This ridiculous idea of club DNA or whatever is simply a sign of cheapness. If Arsenal, Chelsea or Manure want to return to title contention they need to put experienced coaches into the lead roles. I see that Ljunberg is telling us that Arsenal can finish in the top 4. They aren't going to even make Europa league with him in charge.
at least spurs got Mourhino.
In the case of those clubs specifically it's probably a reaction to being unable to attract that caliber of coach anymore as all those teams have trended downwards the last 4 years. Chelsea has been the most stable out of them but had the transfer ban and their impatient mercenary reputation towards managers working against them in a situation where time would be needed for a proper restoration.
At a more macro level the avg coach tenure in the Prem has been shrinking while more money has been spread around the league so the middle is competing pretty aggressively. Most of the old guard of mid-elites probably cannot attract and keep an elite coach thru the tumultuous times they have ahead.
The only thing that's clear to me is that managerial tenure is correlated with success yet most prem and italian clubs are chopping their managers capriciously even when the root causes are more systemic. Man Utd is probably the poster child of that.

I don't think there are that many top tier coaches around.
That's why younger coaches are more likely to get a chance.

Mou, Ancelotti, and Rafa are elite coaches working at clubs under their pedigree. Pocch is an elite unemployed coach currently. There aren't that many elite coaches around, but the ones who are certifiably competent are perhaps more likely to have shorter tenure at poorly run clubs. Who can with a straight face say Arteta or Solkstaar are comparable to Ancelotti upon their entries into the EPL without homerism involved?

Long term? Nuno Santo would have been a better bet imo

Re: Coaches Thread
I'd argue that there are a lot of "elite" coaches but many fans only equate winning titles with being elite. Coaches who get the best out of their players are elite - but many of these coaches just don't have the players to win titles. some coaches who win titles do so because they have extremely good players and not because they are elite.
It's not really hard to win a title when you have the wealth of PSG/Man city/Barcelona/Real etc... especially if competitors don't - think French league.
Someone like Graham Potter or Chris Wilder get players to perform better than can be imagined but are never going to win a title where they are.
I know people like to say that Ferguson is the greatest manager of all time but I'd take Brian Clough over him any day of the week as he took far "smaller budget" clubs to the title.

I don't believe in coach transitivity. In other words, the qualities that support being the best head coach of a top 3 club are quite different from being a coach of a bottom 3. The closest thing to an exception I can recall is Mazzarri.
I agree with you on Clough btw, but then again I don't rate Fergie as a legend outside of his longevity. He lost the tactical matchups against Mou, Ance, VDB, and Rafa consistently. He's a great general manager though.

Yesterday, F95's L. Pfannenstiel announced to change their coach. Uwe Rösler will now show his coaching skills as the successor of Funkel. F. Funkel himself said that Dusseldorf was his last job as coach and is now retiree.

Re: Coaches Thread
Nigel Pearson sacked at Watford.
He took over as the third coash this season with the team anchored to the bottom of the league. He got them to a position of virtual safety and then they sack him 2 games before the end of the season.
Watford owners have too much money and too little sense.

Antonio Conte could leave Inter Milan.
He has a problem with inter president Steven Zhang, claiming the club doesn't values the achievements of the past season.
Pochettino or Allegri could replace him...

Lampard is overhyped in the British media.
4th place (12 losses, 54 goals conceded), lost FA Cup final, elminated in the last 16 Carabao Cup and CL.
Although Bayern is next level, going out 7-1 on aggregate is pretty shamefull.

I think he can evolve into a very good manager if he learns from his mistakes.
It's just typical for British media to talk about him already as one of the world greatest.
It's something you can notice with young British talents.
