Played it a lot from like 2001 to 2005, haven't recently though. Preferred H2H because my dominant strategy was sacrificing categories and getting players like Baron Davis who were beasts, but had low overall rankings due to a terrible category or 2.

Been playing fantasy basketball for over a decade. I’d suggest if you have time and enjoy the competitiveness play a daily head to head league or a points league with an interesting scoring system.

Also, something that might surprise people. I think when it comes to athleticism, agility, physical attributes and skill I rate LeBron only in the top 50.

I played for the first time last year on Timberwolves board. But thread wasnt active. If someone runs a league with active thread, and you need a player, call me. Last year just by beginners luck i snagged James Harden, that paid off pretty well...

I started off with H2H, then went to roto, and then stopped entirely. Mostly because i kept forgetting to update my roster here and there, and I couldn't stay competitive anymore. I switched to roto because I found the strategy to be a little deeper because of the games played aspect, but I found H2H easier to understand the results.

I remember one year when I was playing H2H, i somehow managed to draft both CP3 and Deron Williams... let's just say I never lost in the assists category, lol.... I might sign up this year for nostalgia sake.

The more you study guys for drafts in competitive leagues, the more you learn a lot of little things players may do or add that you didn't know. Of course no one should judge how good NBA players are due to their fantasy stats, but I was kind of amazed last year at how much certain guys helped in fantasy...guysthey were very highly ranked due to contributing in so many areas...that were part of my team that won a really competitive league.

H2H is preferable but I've joined a few roto leagues. Been in the same H2H league going on 3 seasons now so I don't really have a reason to switch back.

Another thing is that the waiver wire can absolutely save your season. But you have to be active on the wire and be decisive. Another strategy is two for one and 3 for one trades then filling in the gaps with waiver wire players.

If anyone has an opening in a money league I'd be interested in joining. I've never played fantasy basketball but love fantasy football so I am intrigued. Unfortunately, FanDuel is not legal yet here in AZ

Yahoo H2H 14 team league with keepers. In our 14th year!

Did roto in the past, I like H2H better. Also agree ESPN format is terrible.

I'm picking 1st in my 12 team H2H league this season. Who do I take?

There are very reasonable arguments for all the following players in my opinion: Harden, Davis, KAT, Giannis, Curry. The annoying position to be in this year is #6, although the logical pick there IMO is Jokic.

If I had the 1st pick I would still go Harden I think. Sure, you can expect some dropoff from last year in the counting stats (Westbrook) but the gap last year between him and #2 was so huge that it's still a 'safe' pick.

My top 5, but again, it depends on how you want to build your team and I think all of them are more or less interchangeable:
1.Harden
2.KAT
3.Davis
4.Curry
5.Giannis

(Disclaimer: I never factor in turnovers, it's a stupid category in fantasy. You bench all your players and you win, what's the point?)

Roto is more fair league, the best team always wins but h2h is more interesting.

I have two leagues playing H2H, and one alternating roto and H2H. I prefer H2H and all the trash talking that goes with it.

I agree picks 6-10 is a dilemna. Same as you, i’d pick Jokic, then a toss up between George, Lebron, Kawhi, Lillard. I’d be very cautious because of injury risk, load management for george, kawhi and Lebron.

I didn't like the sound of a November-ish return for George and don't like Lebron this year so I'd go Lillard then Kawhi at 7 and 8.

Yup November could very well be december. Kawhi with load management could be frustrating as well. I had Lebron in one of my league, everything was great until he missed 17 straight games, basically ruining my season.

AD. Especially since it is likely 9 cat. Though you could argue Giannis, Harden or Curry. AD just fills up everywhere, and has low turnovers compared to the other top guys. https://hashtagbasketball.com/fantasy-basketball-rankings

I won with KAT last year...taking him 4th I think. I was fine with top 6 this year and love Jokic. I didn't want Harden, so I would have gone AD, Giannis or Steph 2/3, KAT, Jokic (I have them listed in that order because I know Harden would have gone no lower than 4 anyway, so I would never probably have to take Jokic ahead of him.
