Every trade deadline Danny doesn't make a move, the rumors seem to be purposely leaked that we're interested in buyout guys. We're most likely not and its always the same saving face crap on keeping hopes up and the anger off of Danny being a hoarder.

I see Embiid and Ja Morant being bought out and us getting them.

Only after Green, if you need a second roster spot, do you start to have to look at positional needs, guaranteed money, and other factors. Poirier's most likely to go second, but if the bought out player is a PG, Wanamaker becomes a possibility.

Green does have the cheapest Contract.
But for some reason, I think that he's still more valuable than Poirier.

Though, that is about a $4M+ difference.

Even if he is more valuable than Poirier, it's like saying a penny's more valuable than a halfpenny. The value difference is not enough to eat 2.62 mil of future money, imo. You either have to eat that all next year, or $873k over the next three years. If you do that, you're for all cap-intents and cap-purposes, paying that money to keep Green.

And I'm not trying to disparage those guys. They both seem like quality teammates. I just don't assess them as significant assets.

He always ends up right in the end, though. Think the only argument against staying pat may be the Paul George year, but he still bolted for LA in the end anyways? I guess last year maybe he should've gotten rid of Mook for a 2nd or something as well. Whole situation was probably an unsalvageable mess anyways.

Agree with all that. Plus, Poirier is more valuable BECAUSE of his contract's extra money & year. We can use him as trade ballast at the draft with picks to consolidate. Green is useless in trades now that the deadline has passed.

Yes, I'm already foolishly hoping for a draft trade.

EDIT: I guess Javonte has a non-guaranteed next year. So, we could pick that up and trade him. But, still for way less $ than Sexy Pants.

Do you guys really thinking the Celtics are just going to cut players who have guaranteed money next year and who fill a role when they could just cut the 26 year old journeyman who ideally shouldn't be getting any minutes and has no guaranteed money?

I'll take Thompson, but IT and ET are so **** washed, I'm genuinely embarrassed when I see their names pop up here.

stop confusing the issue with facts!!!

Don't think Carsen Edwards is an NBA player. Even if he could shoot, he's too small defensively and not a good enough ball handler.

How long do buyouts typically take?

If you can shoot, you have a home.

What is Cleveland doing? Drummond, Love, Thompson on a horrible team? Just rebuild.

If Drummond doesn’t report, wonder what that would do.

Lol the Cavs don't remember that LeBron and Klutch run the league. TT will get a buyout soon enough so he can join the Lakers.

He could get a buyout but I just don't see him going to the Lakers. They already have AD, DH and McGee

Great, a guy to add to the already extensive injury list & another rookie.
