The biggest reason it’s going to be a bust is the play-in games. It has limited the number of sellers because so many additional teams can talk themselves into the playoffs.
Good point.
The Play-in looks like it will do what the NBA wanted, more teams are going to try and compete for a chance at the playoffs (and associated revenue). Unfortunately it means a bunch of teams that need to blow it up will continue to drag the chain on the end of the treadmill (looking at you Orlando).

I dont get how so many people believe in the raptors, they have zero to chance to win it all.

Only way this works is if the Lakers gut what little depth they have. Schroder and Harell would almost certainly have to be included. Is Lowry even that much of an upgrade over Schroder at this point in his career?
Well Schroder really isn’t that good. He’s a terrible shooter this season (and pretty much every season except 2019-20) so he struggles to be effective without the ball in his hands. He’s at best, a middling defender. So yes, Lowry is a much better player and would be a much better complement to Bron/AD with his spacing, playmaking and smarts.
Harrell would be a big loss for the Lakers however. His energy and efficiency are both underrated.

Schroder is an excellent defender. In any case trading for Lowry will be incredibly shortsighted

youre gonna have to explain that one to me. Schroeder is valuable for the Lakers cause they have no one else who can dribble a ball (besides Lebron), but he has been awful offensively overall. Last years shooting performance is the outlier; he's never been a good shooter.
This is a 2 year window for the Lakers. Theyre supposed to be short sighted and for 2 years, Lowry+vet from toronto+buyout guys is easily better than Schroeder+KCP+THT

What im saying is, ever since Schroeder came back down to earth on his shooting, he also went back to who he was 2 years ago. I legit think he sucks and his only saving grace is that nobody else on the Lakers besides Lebron can dribble penetrate making him appear more valuable than he really is. The upgrade from him to Lowry is pretty substantial

So we should be rooting for teams to blow it up and tank?
