I feel like had he not signed here we could have got Drummond.

I hope hes ok though. Seems like a good guy.

I dont think drummond would help us. i think claxton/DJ/Blake/Green are all better.

LMA gave us a real stretch 5 but low key there was real potential for nash/d'antoni to go overboard with shooting

Very sad. He may not be young by NBA standards, but he's much tis young by human standards to be dealing with a life threatening injury like this, and the heart is always scary. I wish him well.

On the basketball side it's back to Claxton and Jordan. Had this beed discovered sooner we would have been in a better position to sign Drummond than the Lakers because we had the two exceptions to use and they had neither. All they could offer was the league minimum. Maybe he picks them anyway, but now we'll never know.

Anyway it's more important that LMA caught this and all I can say is God bless.

I liked Aldridge but I didn't really trust him as a 3 point shooter in the playoffs anyway. I think the stretch 5 thing was destined to fail.

Once Harden came back there would be no shots for him and he would be reduced to doing things hes not as good at.

Also didn't like Claxton losing minutes and missed Jordan on some night. Even though I dogged the guy I think he can at least stay with his man defensively.

Unfortunately, we could see more retirements due to health because of COVID-19 as well in the future. This is ultimately a bad day for basketball.

Reminds me of Mirza Teletovic and Chris Bosh all over again.

Dang, this sucks for LMA. This was probably his best shot ever at competing for a ring and something you have zero control over ends his career. :( I hope he is ok mentally and is getting a lot of support.

Hopefully he stays engaged with the team and can still feel part of a championship run.

He’s been battling this all throughout his career. I didn’t know it was several times. Damn.

This brother should be celebrated for his toughness for 15 years of high level basketball despite having this affect his entire career. Congratulations to him on a terrific career. The ring is coming. Thank You for wearing the black and white.

If we do win a championship this year, does LMA get a ring? Serious question.

Yes he would be eligible. I'm sure we would give it to him.

Damn. Iam sure he’s going to be fine. I agree with Proky though we have enough shooting talent to stretch the floor. What we need is our lob finisher and better defense. Claxton and DJ with clax starting on most days.

I don't think we missed out on Drummond at all. The way he plays wasn't going to fly here. Not even LMA was that hell bent on posting up guys.

This is very sad and unfortunate news, there's no silver lining to it. First and foremost, best wishes to LMA and his family, I hope he stays healthy.

I don't believe for a second that LMA was going to be detrimental to us. We never even saw him play on a healthy Nets team and see what he could provide next to our big 3. He played poorly in his last game and now we know why.

I don't think there's any question if the Nets would give him a ring. I just hope he'd feel like he was deserving despite only being here for a short amount of time.

While this is very scary and sad, it is also relieving that LMA caught this and sought medical attention. I wish him and his family the best.

Spencer said last summer when he had Covid he was sick in bed for three weeks. Then we just heard about Tatum needing an inhaler before the game. We don't fully know what the after effects will be.

The GB thread is going nuts about how the nets are done now without LMA.

Its almost like we didnt go 34-15 before the 5 games he played and were crushing everyone in site with our 3 superstars not even all in the lineup

I feel like the players who had covid symptoms and continued symptoms should make it well known. It’s important to show people that even young and healthy athletes can have bad COVID symptoms and can have lasting symptoms. I think it would help convince a lot of people to take it seriously.

I cant believe he quit on us like this, we gave him a chance to win a title that he didnt get in San Antonio after all these ring chasing years. Guess he didnt like our title chance, this is horrible for KD and Harden who put so much faith into his contribution. The worst part is, the trade deadline has passed and buyout market is closed, we are left with nothing.

Because you're new and I haven't been able to follow your posts closely enough to see your posting style, I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you were speaking out of emotion and need some time to cool off.

I recommend not posting or responding to anyone in this thread until you recognize the gravity of LMA's situation and understand why what you've posted is completely out of line.

Although I haven't been following too closely, I have noticed that at least a few board members have questioned the sincerity of your fandom of the Nets based on other posts about the team. While I act according to my own judgments, this post you've made doesn't help your case. I am sure you can do better. If not, you may not last too long on this board.

Quit on us?!

Dude get the F**K out of here with that nonsense. The guy has a heart condition and just was out because of an irregular heartbeat. He didn't quit on anyone.

This is nowhere close to "horrible" for KD and Harden. LMA didnt move the needle much at all and our title hopes did not ride ona 35 year old journeyman center. We were #1 in the east before LMA was even on the team.

We have DJ, Claxton, Blake Griffin, and Jeff green. that is not "nothing"

You need to your laker fandom trolling fake nets persona elsewhere. no one is buying your act and calling LMA a quitter is about a big a scumbag move as there is
