Barnes, Cade, and Moody all played at Montverde.

I don't think so. He looks more like a Draymond/Anunoby hybrid to me. His shot is so broken though. He doesn't have the strength or bounce of AG, but he has a better frame. They were both able to push the ball in transition and pass in an open floor, but I think Barnes is more intuitive in the halfcourt and a much more advanced defender. He is an odd prospect to be sure, but he has a solid floor because he looks like a guy that you can get a lot of value from defensively.

This draft is looking pretty weak outside of the very top to me. Barnes is one of the few guys that is really intriguing, so I'd be happy to get him, but not with our first pick. I'd be disappointed with that. You just have to be patient and try to add something to his offensive game that allows him to use his passing.

There are no sure things outside of the top four, but I think I'd rather take Keon Johnson over Barnes. Johnson had a rough year at the offensive end, but you can see that his athleticism gives him a chance to be really good and the shot doesn't look that bad. Everyone outside of the top 4 is either old or has massive flaws.

I see....with barnes i see how his passing and defense can be an asset but i keep thinking though can clifford use him in the right way? AG and Khem in not so many words may have alluded to clifford not using them right or playing the wrong way....i would feel like if clifford got his hands on barnes he'd just stick him in a role that might not suit him...

For me taking Barnes with our second pick is completely conditional on landing one of the top guards with our own pick. If you don’t have a lead scoring guard to run your offense through then Barnes is not going to work for you. If we miss out on one of those 3 then we instantly cross Barnes off our draft board IMO.

Moody's brother going to Full Sail in Winter Park, so he has ties to Orlando, besides Montverde.

Moody had a 48% FT rate on 22% usage. Compare that to Anthony Edwards last year had a 34% FT rate on 30% usage.

That's usually a sign that he's going to be a scorer.

I really like Barnes and think he could bring a lot to a winning team in the future, but I don’t think he’s what people will be expecting out of one of our first two rebuilding picks. If his 3pt shot never comes in he’s Draymond, but Draymond isn’t Draymond without Curry and Klay in front of him. As you say, adding him is conditional to who you’re adding him to.

Though I do think Barnes could be great as a cultural piece and fit. High motor, selfless basketball, lockdown defense. Basically a front court version of MCW, which I personally love, but I think many would be disappointed to see that piece added before we land our Curry and Klay guys.

I appreciate you posters that know analytics and can make simple comparisons for us that don't know the analytics as well.

Things I wanna know from them:

Green - work ethic ( is he a gym rat constantly trying to improve both body and game)
- mentality ( does he have that killer mamba mentality or wiggins-like that im good already little left to improve )

Cade - speed/quickness ( laterally is he slow? How is his fast-twitch muscles to be able to blowby defenders?)

Suggs - no lingering injuries?
- is he really pushing 6'5 or 6'3?

What do you guys are curious about? I mean Im sure we are all experienced enough to know these interviews/workouts are really important and can affect one's draft status especially by the team picking him.

Everything ive seen from him on the court tells me Green is closer to Mamba mentality than Wiggins. He wants to beat you!

Every time i watched his games\highlights, i came away thinking Bradley Beal early in his career. Very good go-to, 3 level scorer.

Beal now is one of (if not the) the top offensive threats in the game, so id probably wait off on saying Green will be that, but their games do remind me alot of each other

Well on the court there are times Wiggins time in the court screams HOF worthy. Im talking about interviews and im no psychologist but I think NBA offices have them ready right? Remember that story where what convinced them to draft Dwight over Emeka was that they saw Dwight cleans and makes his bed properly or something?

Green is more like not frekish athletic Lavine.
Also not elite ballhandling skills and pretty poor vision&passing for a guard.

Right now this is where I'm at; granted this is with very limited exposure/research. I'll get to that after the lottery.

1. Cade
2. Suggs
3. Green

I'd gamble on Suggs over Green by virtue of that I think that we've needed a straw that stirs the drink, someone that makes players around him better. I think Suggs fits that more, Green seems like more of a scorer-only, albeit a pretty good one.
I'd go with Mobley after that just as an upside/value play. Not that interested in Barnes, he seems redundant with JI, our offense needs a shot in the arm more than our defense. Would probably go Kuminga, then Moody in the 5 and 6 spots.

On Cade it makes sense, most of those montverde kids are always in orlando, it's only like 30 min away or so. I lived like 10 min away from there in clermont beautiful area.

Would love to have him on the team but I just dont know if we can get lucky like that.

Which one do you have a question with? I mean I read that when they interviewed Dwight, they used that cleaning the room/making the bed thing to prove that Dwight was mature enough and convinced them to draft him over Emeka.

If you are talking about Wiggins... cmon even Wiggins rookie year there were games when he was the next coming of Tmac. Sure the next 2-3 games he might stunk it up but he will show flashes again after that. lol
