Who is this guy exactly besides the son of Ted I assume and one of many members of the Rogers board? Does being a board member of Rogers auto put him on MLSE's board?

Nobody in their right mind would want to rid of a Masai. NobodySinant wrote:I treat the Phoenix/Cleveland/Boston Shaqs like I do Wizards MJ. Never happened.

This whole article is wild and seems like Edward Rogers has a lot of hurt ego. This reads a lot like Larry T is the source on this story or those loyal to him.
Having said that - I fear for what happens when Larry T is gone. We can't go back to the dark ages and this reeks of Maple Leafs corporate decisions in the 00s.

Rogers isn't that interested in the Raptors. They're interested in their huge hockey investment and the Jays.

Feschuk on TSN1050 this morning was suggesting that Masai would have a problem with Ed's politics. And maybe vice versa. If Ed is conservative, he probably didn't like the way Masai brushed off Doug Ford at the parade.
It was really unfortunate that basketball guy George Cope retired from Bell recently. He would have been an important ally who could have helped put a stop to this nonsense. No wonder Masai was insecure. His position was 100% dependent on the 75-year-old Larry Tanenbaum. Fortunately as governor, Larry had sole authority under the NBA consistitution to bring back Masai, regardless of Bell or Rogers.
Also from the article (according to Feschuk), the deal is for 15 mill/yr, plus a share in any increase in value of MLSE. An opposing franchise (we can only assume the Wizards) offered a 3% stake.
