On a much (muuuuuuuch) lower level, the Hawks dealt with similar issues with Omari Spellman aka calOmari. Guy literally gained 50 lbs from preseason to December of his rookie year. Think about
that.
Could never get right and iiuc has eaten himself outta the league. Hawks certainly hadn't invested as much in him as NOP has in Zion but the issues are the same. If he's not showing signs of complying with their plan for his health, they have no choice but to pull the trigger on a trade. It might be for his own good to get the jarring effect of having been traded.
To take it to a whole other realm, that's what Brett Favre needed to spur him onto greatness. Had he stayed in Atlanta, he probably would've been dead by 30.
