Great call on Kareem. I wasn't thinking of him but once he was mentioned I was like yup.

The 1st Sabonis. Never seen a Center before or after that could quite pass like him.

Rookie Jason Williams.

In this stats-driven, efficiency-at-all-cost league nowadays, I don't see any coach allowing a rook to do what he did.

lots of very unique all time greats

lebron is the goat point forward but magic comes close

bird is the goat off ball player but curry is close

curry is the goat shooter and that may be the omly one that doesnt have anyone particularly close

jordan is the goat scorer

moses malone may be the goat rebounder but rodman or wilt probably were close

Bill russel may be the goat defender

I agree with this.

To be 7’0”, 300 lbs and still move as well as a guard…incredible strength, speed, and agility.

I’m not sure we will ever see another Shaq.

Rodman is another guy. Great defender, just the smartest rebounder of all time. Probably 6'8, 210 lbs. Didn't care about scoring. Can you even have a guy on the court these days if he can't shoot?

I remember Reggie Evans had plenty of 2 point, 15 rebound performances but nahh...not the same guy haha.

Other guys like LeBron, Giannis. They're just freaks of nature that you see come along once every 10-15 years.

Was wondering earlier today how close Giannis and Garnett are.
Similar body and stats, but Giannis scores more. Garnett I'm GUESSING was a better defender.

i don't think people are getting the spirit of the question. Iverson was a speedy guard, there's been tons of those. Westbrook played very similar Rose and other athletics point guard. Curry is a better version of Dame lillard. Even Lebron is similar to guys like Magic and Bird.

Giannis and Durant are the real unicorns on this list because of their combination of size and skills. No one else really played like Giannis and no of Durant's size could score from anywhere on the court.

You cannot emulate a 300lb, 7'1 athletic monster. Players either are or aren't. And there has been only 1 Shaq. You can throw Wilt in there as well.

This
so much this..

that i have seen, its Shaq.

There is only one Shaq.

Kids growing up can think, man im gonna be like Jordan, or Lebron...and you get an imitation. You cant grow up to be a Shaq because most people are two small, and the ones large enough lack explosive strength or speed.

But i know Football (soccer) and i've been sifting through a bunch of players and ended up on Riquelme. Riquelme for those who know football. One of if not the most unique football to have ever been put on the football field. Just everything about him down to his demeanor and how he handled the ball is something that hasn't ever been replicated since.

Is there anyone in basketball that matches that? Someone that was so unique you knew that this was it. Wont ever be replicated?

Dont say Jordan because we've got like 500x players who tried to emulate him.

Im talking something that cant ever be emulated. like an anomaly.

I would say Kareem would fit in this category no?
