It was a double digit lead up until their last shot, one on which Keldon got caught down low behind a screener rolling to the rim and nobody went out to the right corner to contest.

Although the D has been better in the 2ND Q, that's happened a lot in this game. WE just gave up 61 points to the second and third units of the opponent. That is inexcusable no matter who we are playing.

And while I love Pop and think his mad 5-guard line-up actually worked to get us a team high 11-point lead, it also killed us on the boards as they got O boards and fouls time and again.

I liked what I saw from Lonnie's defense in the 2ND Q, especially the help D strip and steal and then the man D late to prevent a shot and force a clock violation.

When Lonnie plays great d and DJ then rewards him with a pass for a 3 it's ok, I don't mind those so much. It was an in rhythm reward for good D.

Primo showed some good instincts getting that timely O board tip in and he's not shy in shooting it for that 3 either.

It's concerning that both Doug (rolled ankle) and Jakob (elbow to the face) have been out since they got hurt. Jock isn't providing what we need right now, at least not enough of it, and if they're going to throw elbows around, I'd love Drew out there for some rougher presence. My instinct is that his D awareness may be concerning to the coaches, but I do think it would help to at least give the wrecking ball a try so we're not so abused down low.

They are winning the boards battle 22-15 and 8-5 on O boards. This is something we HAVE THE PERSONNEL TO ADDRESS even with Jakob out right now.

We have 20 assists at the half so the distribution is very good by us.

We have scored 18 points off of their 11TOs so that's a job well done in punishing them and we also have 32-22 points in the paint edge.

We are shooting at a torrid pace but so are they, so we NEED clean stops on defense! And grab rebounds in our end, Spurs!

AND EVERY ONE AND AGAIN LONNIE PUTS IT ALL TOGETHER ON D WHO PROVIDES THE HELP D BLOCK AND THEN RUNS LIKE A GAZELLE DOWN THE LEFT SIDE FOR A PRETTY DRIVE AND UP AND UNDER SCOOP AND REVERSE LAYUP.

I don't mind the IDEA of DJ driving and trying to kick out to Lonnie who has the hot hand but we were overloaded on the strong side there and they got an easy steal. DJ, by the way, made another mid air pass for that TO... film room...

Three Qs, three 30+ point Qs by us on torrid shooting.

There was some terrific contesting both man and help D by DJ and none other than Lonnie who was flat out hugely impactful with his contests, with his preventing drives, with his help D, with his strips inside. And he even blocked their final attempt - this is all kinds of wonderful in terms of staying with the play to the last second, in terms of attention to detail in finishing Qs, in terms of not taking a big lead we earned for granted.

Torrid scoring but we have to keep up the clean D and protect the ball, Spurs!
