You have to be kidding lol and thats no slight to Mcgee. The expectations for Wiseman are higher.

Going forward yes, but for the near future or immediately, if hes just McGee, that would be good.

Jaxson Hayes went to the g-league, blew the doors off those guys, and returned to the Pels looking like a new player. Hope Wiseman can build that same kind of confidence.

Most players of Wiseman's size and age are going to be projects coming into the league. The Mobleys and ADs of the world are the exception. You'd rather not take a guy like that at #2, but it was considered a shaky draft class with Lamelo really not looking very good in Australia and guy like Hayes going #7 overall, so it is what it is.

What really hurts him is that he's missed a lot of important development time. Missed pretty much a year of college, missed 2 training camps and missed basically an entire 2nd season in the pros. That's a tough way to start a career.
Brian Geltzeiler: You see Mark Jackson getting a head coaching job as early as next year?

Adrian Wojnarowski: Not if people make calls on him. Not if an organization is doing their homework and knows all the things he brings with him.

This kid is still a huge work in progress. I think by the time he can be a worthwhile contributor Curry, Thompson and Green will be winding down their careers and close to retirement.

It is kind of hard to gleem too much from his first game back in nearly a year with 4 guys he has never played with before let alone had a practice with. My main focus was on how he looked physically which after a sluggish start he looked pretty good IMO.

He looked tall and athletic last season. He now looks huge and athletic, with no opportunity to work on his lower body for most of the intervening time given he was in a knee brace.

I hope as he does that his increased upper body muscle translates into strength for improved rebounding. If he can rebound and be a lob threat that will help GSW even this season. I agree with whoever said for this season something like the role Javale McGee played when with GSW.

Wiseman played again tonight, against the G-League Ignite. Link for the boxscore.

19 pts (8/17 FG, 1/2 3pt, 1/4 FT)
14 rebounds
0 assists
0 steals
2 blocks
5 TOs
3 fouls
... in 21 minutes

Easter egg: Amir Johnson (who's still 34 years old!) at the end of the video.

Don't worry, I'll post a better highlights video once they are available.

i hope he does well but a lot of people do well in g league it doesnt mean much, raptors 905 guys regularly go down and drop 30+ easily and do poorly in the nba. svi just got 44 and is a disaster anytime he gets minutes off the bench

All the W's need from him right now is to be a decent rotation backup player, which is not unrealistic, but its not going to be easy considering he will only have a chance to play in about 15 games before the playoffs start. I'd say best bet is to get him through training camp healthy and ready for next season.

What was the delay? Meniscus tears usually 4-6 months max recovery.

Inflammation after surgery. Did a follow up cleanup surgery in December. Assuming no more problems should be good to go.

Yup. There is zero defense played in the G League. Its basically just an AAU league for guys in their 20s.

Great to see him moving around and playing basketball, but ya cant take anything really from the stat line.
