Same. I think we have something very special in Precious.

Precious is awesome defensively, but he needs to do the Mikan drill all summer, until he is decent around the rim.

Scottie's ceiling is higher. End of thread.

Scottie has TMac potential. Precious could make an all star game in his career if everything goes right developmentally. Most likely he'll top out at like Maxi Kleber with good feet

This is how I see it, too. I loved Precious in Miami and was happy we got him. However, I saw him as a Clint Capela type and not who he is emerging to be. Now I’m thinking he can be a really good do it all type of player. He’s phenomenally fluid and extremely explosive. I’m not sure anybody on our team can get to their top speed as quickly as he does. Needs to work on his finishing technique though since he can only finish overhanded despite his many attempts at underhanded finishes at the basket. He can get to wherever he wants on the floor pretty reliably already and his shooting form is excellent so he’s got lots to work with going forward.

As for Barnes—I think he’s gonna be an MVP one day, future face of the league potential with his game and personality. We are so lucky to have him.

Comparing the two of them, I think Scottie likely rises higher and a bit faster due to a gifted perception of the game making for a continuous incremental development, while Achiuwa will rise in plateaus. Just how high, or what they look like by their prime, I think is still far too early to tell., especially in the Raptors' culture.

No.

Why not? The stats show he is the best or 2nd best Raptor (behind Fred) defensively.

Well, we just talked about this and as good as Achiuwa is, he is not. Find the thread and you can see what the "stats show".

The path to it is creating his own offense and Mobley can't.

Elite 3 and D won't cut it because Mobley is a much more talented passer and bigger with a 7'4 wingspan.

But still, if you offered me an elite defensive impact like the top mobile bigs like Timelord etc. with a 37% 3pt shot, that's a damn good player.

But to surpass someone as talented as Mobley you likely need a Siakam type development on offense. Unlikely but not impossible I guess.

Precious can actually move fluidly and dribble unlike OG, OG looks more like a bigman than Precious

Am I the only one who thinks Precious is pretty average imo? I see his career being very Ibaka like. Elite starter at his peak to fringe rotational player.

This. On both O and D, OG "moves bigger", and I'd argue is likely the strongest on the team. If you compare the body frames on the team, OG has these tree trunk legs that give him an incredibly sturdy base in the post, but the lower body mass also makes him move in his trademark robotic fashion. Large mass with high tone is going to slow down the joints those fractions that mean so much at this level.

I'm just thrown off by all the comparisons people have made of Precious to PFs like KG, Amare etc...

He really doesn't have that size or length of either. His quickness and speed is actually far more on par with SFs and he's showing some ability to shoot and bring the ball up court. If he can add some tricks off the dribble and learn to pull up as OG did, I think he could resemble more top SFs than PFs.

We? Who do you think actually agrees with your basketball illiterate posts here? Few. Grammar police... just lol... Read what both posts about those players said again, because you don't have a clue so far. Would you like me to explain why?
