AD for Turner straight up ... F Bron Not here to please him, just hope to win 1 more season with him.
Heck even throw in 2027 pic for it even THT if numbers don't match lol.
AD needs to go IMO and really hope they make something happen - b4 he goes down again next season
Gotta look out for the future, stop pleasing Bron even if he does sign the extension.
Yes I'm high on Turner also Tatum, but that's a pipe dream

Would need Westbrook and 1 FRP. But I think it could be worth it.
Clarkson has become a solid impact player even in a poor shooting year. He does a lot of things that help winning beyond scoring. Conley is a great player when healthy but that's the big question mark for him. Gay has been solid too and I'd have him as a Kuzma replacement.
Conley, Clarkson, Gay, LeBron, Davis -- Nunn, Reaves, THT, Gabriel
Best trade for Westbrook is Charlotte!
Westbrook, THT for Hayward and terry
Trade AD and Hayward .. for Jalen, Robert Williams, Horford.
TERRY/monk/Jalen/lebron/Williams

Second best partner is Indiana... Westbrook for brogdon and hield
At that point just trade AD and pick for Jalen and Robert Williams straight up
Brogdon/hield/Jalen/lebron/Robert Williams
That's actually a sickkk line up

Curious if Laker fans would do a trade based around AD for DeRozan?
AD/THT for DeMar/Vuc works in trade checker. As a Bulls fan, I think i take the risk that AD might stay healthy.

Or Charlotte just trade Hayward and Rozier to Indiana for Brogdon and Hield and leave the Lakers out of the this trade talk?

Or Houston comes in and sweeten the deal so instead of one of these teams getting Westbrook, they get John Wall.

I know a lot of Lakers fans really hype up DeMar but this deal would probably be the best value they can get for AD.

Re: Lakers needs in FA/trades
Possibly the best path forward
A team can take 25% more salary than they give in a trade.
Westbrook ($47m) could be traded to another team without capspace and Lakers can get back $37.5m in salary. That saves them $9.5m but doesn't get them low enough to use the 10m MLE or 4m BAE.
However, if a third team takes the $37.5m then they can give the Lakers a package of players of $30m. That saves the Lakers $17m, which allows Lakers to use 10m MLE, 4m BAE, and enough minimum contracts to stay under the hard cap.
Example:
Westbrook+FRP to CHO
Hayward+PJ to IND
Hield+McConnel to LAL
McConnell, Hield, 10m MLE, LeBron, Davis -- Nunn, Reaves, THT, Gabriel, 4m BAE
Best thing about this path is that Lakers can give good value and get a decent package back while being able to improve team in FA.

I don't see 22M in Hield as a good investment when you can get replacement level production from someone like Gary Harris on the free agency at an MLE price point. If they do get the full MLE, you already know these morons are going to spend it on Malik Monk, instead of someone more useful like Kyle Anderson.

Sure, that's just an example.
The point is about finding a 3 team trade where:
LAL get back 30m in players
Team 2 get 37.5m in players
Team 3 gets Westbrook+FRP
This layout gives Lakers 30m in players while being able to use 10m MLE and 4m BAE

Re: Lakers needs in FA/trades
Let’s imagine Westbrook is traded to OKC or we have some sort of deal that opens up our full MLE. I love the OKC deal.
Westbrook, 2027 1st (unprotected), 2nd rounder for Williams, Favors, Ty Jerome.
If that deal happened (which would open up a trade exception of $30M), would you prioritize Tyus Jones? I feel like he’d be the perfect fit.. other than he’s small and we saw how being small killed us this year. However, he shoots the ball extremely well and doesn’t turn the ball over. He’s bizarro world Russell Westbrook and I can’t think of a better fit. Making that deal would give us access to the full MLE.
If that happened, we’d have to spend every other resource we have (BLE of $4M, vet minimums, Nunn, THT) on wings. So for example:
- Make OKC trade as mentioned above
- Trade THT to Detroit for Kelly Olynyk
- Sign Otto Porter, BLE
- Sign Tyus Jones to full MLE (4 years, 10M a season)
- Sign Derrick Jones Jr, Carmelo, Tony Snell
PG: Jones/Nunn/Jerome
SG: Williams/Reaves/Snell
SF: LeBron/Porter/Stanley
PF: Olynyk/Carmelo/Jones Jr/Gabriel
C: Davis/Favors
I love the look of that team. We’d also have a $30M trade exception we could use at the deadline to acquire a team wanting to get off salary. Rozier? Capela? Brogdon? Hield? Hayward?

OKC doesn't have the capspace next season because of Kemba dead cap and SGA max deal kicking in.
They'd have to do this deal before next season begins. But if they did, they'd be above the luxury tax with this deal and this trade would force them to not be able to use 10m MLE or 4m BAE themselves. I doubt they do it unfortunately..
The 3-team trade idea is the only realistic path to the 10m MLE and 4m BAE as pretty much no teams have capspace this offseason (and the only ones that do would be unlikely to trade with the lakers).

Re: Lakers needs in FA/trades
So much of what are needs are will be based on the Westbrook trades and at this point almost seems like a sure thing he gets moved. The reason why I like the charlotte deal so much is none of the other deals get us wings. Hield and Brogdon would be a great backup plan but having a 6-7 6-8 SF who can actually play would help the Lakers so much. I don't know if we can get Rozier and Hayward for Russ but maybe is Russ and Nunn for them too with the lakers throwing in 27 unprotected. Maybe it's not Rozier but it's Oubre another wing for the Lakers. Again I think charlotte is going to clear future money to resign Bridges.
The roster construction around Brogdon and Hield would be difficult because we would need to find a starting 3 in FA which would be almost impossible taking into account what we have to offer money-wise. The PG SG would be so crowded.
PG- Malcolm Brogdon - Kendrick Nunn - Austin Reaves
SG- Buddy Hield - Malik Monk - Talen Horton Tucker
As of now my favorite trades for the Laker are Russ, Nunn, and 27 unprotected for Hayward and Rozier. Then the Lakers move THT and Min contract to OKC for Favors, Muscala, and Kenrich Williams. Lakers would build out the roster something like this...
PG- Terry Rozier - Eric Bledsoe ( Don't really want him but seems destined to be a Laker) - Mac Macclung
SG- Malik Monk - Austin Reaves
SF- Gordon Hayward - Stanley Johnson - Wenynen Gabriel
PF- Lebron James - Kenrich Williams - Jalen Smith (Love to take a flier on him)
C- Anthony Davis - Derrick Favors - Mike Muscala

I think you're a little off on that one.
Their current team salary is just above $82M. If you add Westbrook's $44M, that's $126M. Luxury tax is $136.6. Also in that same deal they'd subtract Favors' salary ($9.7M), Williams ($2.0M), Ty Jerome ($2.4M). So their team salary would be around $112M and way below luxury tax.
But yes, this is certainly a deal that would need to be completed prior to the draft. It would be very similar to what Boston and OKC did last year with Horford/Kemba.

Love this deal. It's an even better version of the OKC deal. And it literally just fits. We'd be hard-capped because we're using the MLE and BIA but that doesn't really matter in this scenario as we'd have great salary filler for deals.
LeBron: $44.5M
Davis: $38M
Hield: $21.2M
McConnell: $8.1M
THT: $10.3M
Nunn: $5.3M
Stanley: $2.4M
Reaves: $1.6M
Gabriel: $1.9M
Total- $133.3M
MLE: $10M
BAE: $4.0M
Total: $147.3M
I believe the hard cap number for next year is around $155M - Which means we'd have just enough room to add in a few more vet minimum players.
