Thats not really true. The Heat paid Whiteside, James Johnson, Meyers Leonard, Tyler Johnson, Dion Waters, Josh Richardson, Chris Anderson. Not all of them were undrafted but they all found their roles in the NBA with the Heat org and then were quickly overpaid by them. Duncan Robinson has a chance to be next on that list.

Duncan is still a very good player and has improved at doing things other than his 3 point game though. It’s more so the things around him than himself

What weapons? Their offense isn't good and is easy to stop in playoffs. They badly need more scoring
I think they should play him a lot of Joel is going to play since he is only playing drop. Just dho Duncan and get open 3s

Maxey is covering the DHOs like a free safety. Strus hardly had any looks for most of the game. Duncan would get creamed on defense and not have any legs to get his shots up.

But now he's getting DNPs in the playoffs? Damn! That's a super expensive bench warmer.

I will say this though. I don't think Max Strus is better than him. Both shoot lots of threes and bad on defense. However I believe Robinson is the better shooter.

Duncan Robinson playoffs game log:
Game 1 vs Hawks - 22:51 minutes
Game 2 vs Hawks - 6:40 minutes
Game 3 vs Hawks - 14:23 minutes
Game 4 vs Hawks - 9:21 minutes
Game 5 vs Hawks - 12:29 minutes
Game 1 vs 76ers - DNP
Game 2 vs 76ers - 0:55 minutes
Game 3 vs 76ers - DNP

Look at his percentages and on/offs. He was horrific this year.

Heat have so much great role player talent that they can take former starters and give them DNPs.

Robinson may end up contributing, but I do know he made his bank account great again.

Every team hunts Robinson on defense. Strus is a much better defensive player.

He's had a very off year by his standards. That said, put him in the right situation on another team next year and you could see him regain his form. A split from the Heat is definitely necessary for him though at this point

His career shooting percentages are higher than his bubble percentages, but thanks for the theory.

 I love people go to certain narratives when they can easily verify certain pieces of data with a few clicks.

As for the OP’s question, Strus has taken his minutes and is doing a great job. If Strus makes a bunch of threes, it’s a welcomed bonus, and if he doesn’t, he’s a big plus defensively.

Strus is a free agent in 2023. Seeing how much Duncan was paid and seeing how Strus is better, Miami will be looking at paying him in the 25+ range. Thats not factoring Herro and his Max contract. It will be an interesting offseason for sure.

It's annoying Duncan stinks now but the Heat instantly found a new 3pt shooting robot in Strus haha.

It's not hard to lose your job if literally all you are capable of doing is shooting 3s and you only hit them at 37%

Can’t wait to see what Strus asks for when it’s his time to get paid. Love seeing a fellow DePaul Blue Demon succeed. It’s rare these days.
