As a Laker fan since Magic’s rookie year, this is exactly right.
Magic 1985-88
Shaq 2000-2002
Kobe 2006-10
Those are the peaks any Laker player has hit in my lifetime.
Honestly I believe the most dominant was Shaq from 2000-2002. I don’t know if any player in the history of the game was beating him during that stretch when he was in shape and motivated. Not Jordan, not LeBron, not Kareem, not Hakeem, not Russell. He only lasted 3 years at that peak but my goodness he was impossible to deal with.
Abs honestly Magic’s peak probably runs through 89 as well. We Lakers fans try to forget that year but he was amazing until he got hurt early in the finals.
