Pippen 1994 playoffs: 23, 8, and 5, 52.1 TS%, 22.8 PER, loses in the 2nd round.

Player to player possibly but not on an all time setting. Give me Jimmy on my team though

Doncic before facing Warriors had comparisons with MJ

Giannis, Jokic & Luka all were better than Jimmy. Nice try tho

He is a career 18/5/4 on 46/32/84 splits with a PER on 21.

He has never been higher than 3rd team all nba and has done that 4 times.

He has 12k points.

He has a long way to go before he could get into the Top 30.

That's some mighty fine trolling there sir.

also I didn’t see this coming, after the Minny/Philly/Chicago runs I thought he was tough to play with. Turned out he was right each time and finally found the culture and team to maximise his talents. Wasn’t he picked with the last pick in the first round? And now he’s on the verge of leading a team to the finals for a 2nd time?

Pretty damn good if you ask me. But there are plenty of other players all time who are clearly better, even if they didn’t make the finals

Paul Pierce.
10x All Star
1x All NBA second team
3x All NBA third team
1x NBA champ
1x NBA Finals MVP
26k points, 7.5k rebounds, 4.7k assists

Ray Allen
10x All Star
1x all nba second team
1x third team
2x NBA champ
3rd most 3 pointers of all time
24.5k points, 5.2k rebounds, 4.3k assists

Jimmy Butler
6x All Star
4x All NBA third team
12k points, 3.6k rebounds, 2.8k assists

Butler is not in that category yet. He has a chance to get there if he continues on but he’s clearly a tier below Pierce and Allen at the moment.

I don't have a top 100, but if I did. I imagine he'd be on the borderline. Given that, without much thought, somewhere between 90-120ish.

Too soon. If he somehow manages to beat the Celtics and win a title? Top 100.

The Celtics barely doubled Butler. He had a great game but part of the reason he had a great game is the Celtics weren't even treating him like a star, nevermind a superstar.

NBA game is played very differently than when even Kobe was last good. Doncic is not that good right now and he may end up with 30+ 40+ point playoff games before his career is over and that is with defenses paying extra attention to him. Already has 8 without even playing in that many playoff games.

If you are on a team whereby bigs no longer shoot/score as primary options and you are just surrounded by 3 shooters, pretty good chance a very good star with some dribbling skills can have a bunch of big scoring games.

It is really just game and teams evolving to be more perimeter oriented.

As for Heat history...
1) Wade.
2) Lebron (best 4 year peak but years of service also count)
3) Mourning -- would be less valuable in this era but was till darn good back in the day.
4) still a debate..

You can respect jimmy butler but also respect the many, many great players that came before him. Jimmy is awesome. So are about 20-30 other all time greats. Not every opinion has to be filled with hate. Relax people. Appreciate greatness and quit trying to quantify everything.

Using career totals to describe is compare them to Jimmy Butler due to the fact that he was pretty much a defensive scrub for his first 2 season season and didn't get a starring role until his third season and came into his own in this 4th season.

I'll take prime Jimmy Butler over Ray Allen easily. Jimmy's defensive versatility, foul drawing and his playmaking makes him a more valuable player in my eyes.

And Jimmy to me is equal or better than Paul Pierce depending on the situation.

Take Jimmy's career averages from his 4th season to his current, he's averaging 21, 6 5 with 2 steals and half a block on 58 TS.

I'm taking Prime Jimmy over Prime Paul Pierce and Prime Ray Allen. Elite defense with above average playmaking and scoring is an easy player to build around and scale.

The more I think about it, you’re right. Jimmy is in the tier above

When you look at all time players, you have to take into account their whole career. The question isn’t about peaks.

Being a great player for 10-12 years > being one for 6 years.

I’m taking Miami Jimmy over any version of Pierce, Vince & Allen
