Lol look at the vote totals duffman.. if it were open position voting he wouldn't be anywhere near it

What do you mean exactly? Did you see vote totals below him?

30 is low for all nba team member.

Do you see the next vote total above him? It's about twice as many more votes than pascal got..

Its great that he made 3rd all nba team but were talking about the guy who literally was the last guy on the list by more than half the amount of votes..

And when you factor things like if it were open position voting (lavine/beal) and injuries (zion) .. it's pretty clear he pascal isn't all nba.

The "30 is low for an all nba player" argument is a lazy one

Did you even read through the link on the tweet you posted?

Lavine and Beal received exactly 0 votes. Fred got more all-NBA votes (1) than Lavine/Beal combined.

If Beal/LaVine and perpetually injured Zion is your argument, then you have no argument.

And if you're concerned that he was the last guy picked for All-NBA, what about 2020 when he was 2nd team ALL NBA?

Siakam at 30, just above Mobley/Cade/Smart/Wiggins/Middleton and just below Ingram/DeRozan/LaVine/Holiday is laughable. I also didn't see AD, Beal, Brown, Edwards or Mitchell which more than likely means they are in the top 25.

On the flip side, Scottie is very high. He would need to have one heck of a season to be better than Murray, SGA, Garland, etc. Siakam is 10 spots too low and Scottie is 10 spots too high while FVV seems to be in the right range at least. I guess it evens out a bit lol.

Lmao I think we need to start avoiding these rankings. We know they will always be inaccurate.
Why do we do this to ourselves every time?

As always, the Raps will prove it on the court.

These rankings are based on marketing/branding and not actual basketball.

Here's what their official criteria was for ranking:

Note: ESPN's NBArank panel, composed of over 200 reporters, editors, producers and analysts, were asked to rank players based on their predicted contributions -- quality and quantity -- for the 2022-23 season only.

So yeah, Pascal at 30 is laughable.

If 200 people who are paid to watch and evaluate NBA basketball are this uneducated about the Raptors that says a lot about how invisible we are in the basketball landscape. Not that we didn’t already know that, but this is even more confirmation.

That’s why I think these rankings should mean exactly zero to us.

Siakam should be around 25 in my opinion so not far off, Fred is about right, Scottie probably a bit too high.

That probably explains why ESPN is blocked by our firewall. Our IT manager is a Raps fan.

If this list was based off the playoffs Freddy Allstar would be #100, Barnes would be #25, and Siakam would be around #15-20.

I'd agree with the rough consensus that Pascal is too low, Scottie is too high, and Fred about right. Defence is undervalued, offence is overvalued, and media buzz is a big influence.

But to me the real miss is OG at #75, twenty spots behind T Harris, Poole and Fox, and 30 spots behind McCollum. Yikes!

Let it slide, folks. Siakam should feel insulted enough to play with an even bigger chip on his shoulder to have more of an outstanding year than ever. Thanks ESPN for giving him this added incentive.

How many times does Siakam have to cook Ingram before people realize he's better.

Pascal too low. Scottie (all the rookies really) too high. Fred's about right.

Dumb list.

People love making the stats argument and the stats say FVV was the 11th best player in the NBA last season.
