Am I the only one who really doesn't wanna give up on Springer yet? He has good upside as a point-of-attack defender, cutter, and rebounder (for a guard). Not to mention the value of being on a rookie contract.

I was thinking something like-
Sixers trade: Thybulle, Korkmaz, Springer, and ‘23 2nd
Sixers get: Vanderbilt and Justin Holiday
Hawks Trade: Justin Holiday, Vit Krejci, and 2 ‘23 2nds
Hawks get: Thybulle and Korkmaz
Jazz Trade: Vanderbilt
Jazz get: Springer, Krejci and 3 ‘23 2nds
That would be amazing.

Tucker is signed for 3 years tho.
I don't want Vanderbilt mainly because I don't feel he moves the needle and he is going to cost a pretty penny as a bench piece. I'd rather make use of our limited assets to bring in a true difference maker

In theory, I'd love to keep him as we sorely need youth on our roster. However, the reality is that he, like Reed, is in Rivers's doghouse and has been for nearly 2 seasons now. Since Doc isn't going anywhere until at least the offseason, we need to try to go all in to win this season since anything short of a title, finals appearance or at the very least a conference finals appearance will likely cause Harden to walk and Embiid to demand a trade in the offseason. Thus I see this season as our last chance to win a title in the Embiid era of the Sixers.
In the short-term, this team needs younger longer wings and forwards with experience to guard the likes of Tatum, Brown, Giannis, Mobley, etc. in the playoffs. If acquiring one means that we have to part with Springer, I'm all for it.

Tony Bradley has fallen out of rotation in Chicago and could probably be had for almost nothing (future 2nd or something). A reunion with him might not be a bad failsafe if nothing else materializes.

I understand your point, but I feel like Reed is in a different situation because he's been given the opportunity but has done less than expected with it. Springer has 4-5 guards ahead of him on the depth chart, so the same opportunity hasn't been there for him. With Thybulle possibly being traded and Shake headed toward free agency, Springer's opportunity might be next season. I really think he has the tools to be a playoff rotation worthy player.

I don't think so. Where would he even play? Harden, Maxey, and Melton aren't going anywhere.

Pass. The one area we are loaded at is both guard positions. We need better forwards and a back-up center.

Re: Sixers trade deadline thread - Feb. 9th.
Less interest than the offseason but yes.
However, him and harden would have to be willing to coexist he said some though things in Houston. We have plenty of guard depth but almost no guards who profile as having traditional PG skills. Wall isn't ideal but if he's free I'd be willing to see if he can come in and push the ball up the court and help run the offense when Harden sits.
I am at a loss how people still don't see the obvious with Harden off the court we struggle to create good looks. It's not like we didn't see the same thing last year either. This team number one and two needs an athletic wing and playmaking guard. Not sure if Wall is still that guy but he's worth a look if free and willing to accept a 15-18 min bench role.

But Vanderbilt isn't expensive. And we'd have 1.5 years to evaluate whether he's worthy of a large contract.

Imagine being Skylar Mays living in Philly/Delaware/NJ and you get traded in the G League to Mexico City. Talk about a complete change of scenery.

Is shake and say Korkmaz worth enough to bring back Seth Curry??

Re: Sixers trade deadline thread - Feb. 9th.
I like the idea of Vanderbilt quite a bit. My only complaint is that he probably needs to improve his outside shooting. He hits on a %33 clip taking about one attempt per game on average, and I bring that up because it would be extremely beneficial to us if we had a big that could stretch the floor and keep the defense honest. So while he is a capable three point shooter, it's not high up on his skill level. I'll still take Vanderbilt in the rotation due to his athleticism, length, and ability to guard multiple positions on the floor. He's not a complete liability on offense, but I imagine the majority of his scoring is done off of hustle plays/2nd chance points. He's not a player that would ever be asked to do too much here, and he'd give us an athletic element that we currently lack on this roster. Adding Jared Vanderbilt is a great idea. Ainge is of course going to try and fleece us and ask for Maxey in return, but hopefully Daryl proves to be just as shrewd.

Who would take a shot at Wall? are you aware of his numbers this year?
He's barely hanging on 40% from the field, his efficiency is one of the worst on the entire league and he cannot play off ball.
Between Shake and Maxey we're full of similar guys off the bench.
Hard pass, and god help the team that bites

More interesting for me is if Celts, Nuggets, Pels or Grizzlies will do an “all in” move and target Nets or Raps players like FVV, OG, Siakam, Kyrie or KD.
If one of them is about to acquire KD.
And you would need to trade Tobi, Maxey and 2029 1st to beat the offer, do you do it?
KD can easily replace Tobi. Shake plays 6th man. And maybe we ask for Seth or Day’ron Sharpe as throw in?
Personally, I would want to hold unto our team right now. But I think it would be prudent to explore this type of scenario if there’s a possibility KD will end up to one of these contenders

Vanderbuilt can not be a Tucker replacement. Two very different players. One is a back-up C and the other is an amulet for the starting unit.

Re: Sixers trade deadline thread - Feb. 9th.
Vanderbilt would be the immediate backup 5 and would mesh well with a fast-paced Maxey bench unit. He can also be a PJ Tucker protege who hopefully steals that starting spot next year after some shooting progress.
I wonder if a 3 teamer makes sense. Vando to Philly, Matisse to Atlanta, and a FRP from Atlanta to Utah might work.

Wall is definitely cooked. It’s a bummer that him and Boogie had their careers destroyed by injury.
