As awesome of an achievement as Dame hitting 71 points is - LeBron, Carmelo, Steph all never achieved that - I can't help but feel annoyed that Dame even needs to be in a situation where he needs to score 71 points to beat a team. Love CJ. Jerami Grant is growing on me. But those aren't #2 options on a contender.

On most nights we'd expect Simons to do this, yes?

Simons/Sharpe are the future, but that doesn't mean the Blazers aren't wasting peak Dame.

I personally don't think offense is all that big an issue other than Nurkic being disinterested half the time when he's not injured. I think defense is the much bigger issue....

I have always thought, and still think it should be, championship or bust. I'd trade Dame in a second if I felt like the resulting roster would give us a more legit chance of winning a title with our window. Just the same I'd make a home run trade offer of youth and picks for star(s) if I thought it'd give us a real shot at a title. But if we aren't gonna get anywhere with a roster then the best move maybe even for all parties involved is to have a friendly separation. Yes Dame's digit will forever hang in the rafters one day and deservedly so but whatever this team does in any roster decision I hope it's the move that puts us where we all want to be and that is to see an NBA title in Portland once again

Call me a fake fan if you like, but like last year, I've stopped watching games after the 55 game mark. We're not really competing, we're not building a youth movement that could one day compete. I've got nothing to root for

Nobody here is a fake fan. If you're interested enough to sign up to a message board and post about the Blazers, you are a fan. We may have differing opinions about the direction of the team, and that's ok!

I'm one who wants to continue with Lillard on the team, but I completely understand those who want to move on as a way to give the team a definitive direction and/or to give Lillard a chance to compete for a title on a more suitable roster.
