Wore out his welcome, but he was so electric during the 22 title run. Series against the Nuggets was awesome, he was exploiting Jokic
The guy is a natural comedian too, wish him the best in Washington

Yeah, I don't think the contract signing is fair to complain about. He was never paid any of the increase by the Warriors so all he did last regular season was score more points than anyone else on the team for less than $4m in salary.
Turnovers, shot selection and decision making are certainly fair game.
Now the Wizards get to see if he peaked at 22 years of age.

No one gives a **** about the money, its about the trade value due to the money. His value was nerfed because of it
This is just an extended version of the whole "he's not overpaid, he only made rookie wages last year" argument. No, when you get the contract extension, thats part of your pay now. That's the level of expectation that's set. He got paid, and developed nothing after it. Just basically hoped his streaky shot would continue to fall like it did the year prior, and it didn't.
Literally copied the Monta playbook, and thankfully we got out early

Had JP played a lick of defense, I'd be bummed at his being traded. But truth is he was a bit of a highlight whore. Cared more about the style of the game then just getting it done. He might blow up as a starter for sure....but I don't' see that translating into wins.

Never been more appreciative of a Warriors trade.
Worth noting that it does let us know nothing Dunleavy says in public is to be taken as an honest comment (at this point I suppose we're better off to just assume he's lying). His first press conference at the helm confirms that much. Not a "bad" thing as a GM, but notable.

I’ve never seen so many inexplicable crunch time turnovers in my life and that’s saying a lot being a Warriors fan. So thanks for that, Jordan.
But seriously I do wish the kid well. At least now he won’t be in Steph’s perpetual shadow.

Pretty pathetic thread if you ask me...Poole was instrumental to their championship last year, and for that he deserves uniform praise from GSW fans. Ever since the core was extended, GSW has been stuck in the max contract + rookie/vet minimum salary construct with only the exceptions to fill out the roster. They have needed players like Poole to step up and outplay their contract. Poole provided much needed fire power in a year when scoring off the bench was in short supply. Anyone comparing him to Monta or DLo is just flat out being a tool...none of them ever contributed to a championship. None.
This was a rough year for Poole for a lot of reasons...the punch, of course, but the bigger factor in my mind was the league-wide clamp down on carrying calls. Poole was vexed by them and I don't think he ever could adjust during the season....without the carry, his handles became looser and less controlled, resulting in more turnovers. He's still got things to figure out in his game, but I wish him well and thank him for helping bring a 5th Championship to GSW.

I'm gonna miss Bob fitzgerald's call, "and poole with the ole' defense." Seriously, I think he was an above average scorer, terrible defender, who made inconsistently good and bad decisions. I think he let that over-blown contract go to his head and his ego became hard to manage.
I am grateful for his role during our championship season.

Interesting comparison - two score-first, defensively-lacking combo guards. Who's better, Monta or Poole? What's the consensus.
If memory serves me, Monta was smaller, less shooting range, but a more efficient shooter - deadly from midrange, and more assertive taking it to the hole. One thing that drove me crazy about Poole is just making dumb mistakes and not immediately correcting them, and I don't remember Monta doing that. But probably with those Warriors teams there was more tolerance for dumb play.
Of course getting Bogut was huge. Even though he was hampered by injuries. IDK if CP3 can make the same impact.

Monta was a freaky athlete. It's a shame he could never really shoot.

I feel like he will improve, I heard he has a pretty good work ethic and motor
Too bad my dream and the orgs dream of the 2nd gen didn't workout with a team of
Poole
Moody
Kuminga
Wiggins
Wiseman
But I'll keep tabs on him and wiseman see if they eventually do get it together since they have the tools. It's all mental

I appreciate that we he had a contract at the price that we never paid, but instead turned into one year of Paul before CBA comes in.
And that is the best I can muster.

Oh good lawd I am not. I can't stand watching guys like Poole that seem to have mental and physical strokes every second play. If I were Steve Kerr I would have had a baseball bat with me on the bench, reserved just for him in-game.
