If so, it had to be late first at best. His game is best suited for the Euro League's.

With the defence he has, there's not much of a chance in Europe too..

There's a better chance. There's no defensive 3 seconds rule in Europe so the ability to defend in space isn't as important. Just plugging a big dude under the basket can sort of work over here. And Timme is 6'10 at least. It's possible that his defense is passable enough over here for his offense to shine through.

If he could shoot 3’s he’d have a chance. He’s just not good enough.

They’re both tall and white. Just like if you’re a bald black man you’re basically Michael Jordan.

Nuntius wrote:Now, about the OP. Not all college roles translate over to the NBA. Some archetypes are notoriously unlikely to translate. Timme falls within that archetype. Azuolas Tubelis falls within that archetype. Luka Garza falls within that archetype. All of them have been very high level players in college but they simply do not fit the NBA. They are good basketball players and they can have excellent pro careers on other high level leagues, they just do not fit the NBA.

I actually think Luka Garza is pretty decent in the NBA given the opportunity. Good 10th or 11th man for certain matchups.

He's not the tall or as big as Jokic and his game is nothing like Jokic's game . You can't compare every white center to Jokic. Jokic can do everything offensively and the other guy is just the post up player on the college level.

He was not very good, I dont feel like he would make a good pro at all from all the games I watched I never understood the amount of "success" he had with Gonzaga

Not taking away anything from them but they obviously play a cupcake schedule. He’s going against Pepperdine and San Francisco twice a year.

Especially since this year's draft class is way better than last years.

Gotta be the best of the best to get drafted when you stay all four years in college. The league loves one and done or two year players draft wise. Milwaukee picked him up. He'll just have to prove himself in Summer League

That's a solid conference they play in. Santa Clara has had two first round picks in back to back years. There's a lot of talent spread all across the country. This is college football where its all about three conferences and that's it.

Are you a member of the Bucks new coaching staff? :reporter:

I think he's going to stick, due to development via Stotts, Griffin & Vin Baker.

Mentioning Jokic is very odd to me.
I do wish Drew well.

To people wondering why mention Jokic...That was his pre-draft comparison...

Dude is another Eric Chenowith or Josh Harrelson or some tree logger who had one season in the NBA. He will get his minutes in the German or Taiwan or Adriatic basketball league

Odd comment, that really says it all about your post. San Francisco finished in the Ken Pom 25 last season (2022).

Timme is undersized for a C at 6’8 and he has cinder-blocks for feet. Zero chance he would be able to defend at the next level. Add to that the fact that despite his skilled footwork and nice touch down low, he can’t shoot the 3-ball. He’s just not a pro prospect. Maybe 30 years ago, but not today. He should have a decent career in Europe though.
