Nix is in the mix too.

Thank you. Forgot about him. One more big man and we should be in good shape

We would probably see Javonte Cook and Kok Yat as well on the team. We heard Lloyd saw a few Iowa guys.

I want to see more of Kok Yat

Jokes aside I think that part of Iowa problem was that they weren't able to establish any kind of offensive and defensive rhythm. Part of problem was an inconsistent rotation when Garza, Miller, Minott, Moore and Nix were called to main team. Another part was lack of a true big man and PG. Moore at PG struggled mighty. It affected guys such as Cook and Yat. Hopefully this year it will be different.

Big power forward from San Diego. I believe he won the award for Best power Forward in college basketball. 6'9 250.
Was considered by some sites a potential hidden gem prior to the draft.

Why he is undrafted? Smells like Naz Reid story...

Different type of player than Naz, but I agree with you. My guess is limited athleticism, lack of tape, and defensive limitations. Undersized for a center, might be too slow to guard the perimeter. But who knows. I love the signing. Him and Edwards both could fill rolls deep on the bench if needed.

There are some similarities, but he's actually older than Naz, by like a month.

I thought you must have meant age on their draft day, but he is actually older than Naz. WOW.

I'm actually a fan of them getting some of these older guys mostly because they're pretty much finished growing and filling out and they know their bodies. They might be one or two trick ponies, but they likely know how to do those tricks pretty well. Also, the production line to get them ready for a bench roll is likely much shorter than an 18-year-old prospect

Agree. I prefer that in our SL league team and in Iowa Wolves team at least one of Jesse Edwards and LeDee is on the floor. I have been annoyed to see SL and Gleague team playing like chicken without head everytime when Garza was not there.

Is it a done deal that we are losing Garza?

My understanding is that Garza is a UFA who cannot be signed as a two way ever again by any team by rule. The basis for this belief is that he spent one year as a two way for Detroit and two years as a two way for us. I don’t believe a player can be a two way for more than 3 seasons, (see the link below.) If I am correct, that means we either need to roster Luka or let him go.

Wouldn’t it be something if the Iowa Wolves get the benefit of some of these summer league signings and have a season where they don’t suck. I know summer league standings are about as important as G league standings which are as important as single or double A baseball standings (somewhere between extremely little and literally no value at all,) but it would still be cool to see a successful Iowa Wolves team.

Thanks. I really like Garza. I think he can play NBA ball. If we need one more center I wouldn't mind promoting him.
