I really liked one of Klay, Hield, or GTJ. That may not age well.

Given our PG issues and the price, who I wanted was Tyus Jones

I'm all in on AB so I wanted to avoid a potential blockerJ-Mezzy wrote:eyriq wrote:I really liked one of Klay, Hield, or GTJ. That may not age well.

+1 - I am only calling it PG for now, but in reality he is the starting point guard but "point forward" also isn't far from the truth.
Much like how Penny Hardaway was arguably the earliest archetype of point forward. In todays NBA he would have been SF/SG/PG.

overall he has struggled so far, but KCP has been better recently.
First 15 games: 7/2/2 on 35%FG, 24% 3pt
Last 14 games: 10/2/2 on 45%FG, 36% 3pt

It has to be said that KCP's impact goes beyond the numbers.
It's that veteran voice in the locker room,. The elder statesman who leads by example and stresses that defensive intensity should never waver.
He's won championships. I'm sure that the guys look up to him. We don't even know how he influences practices.
It won't be on the stat sheet at the end of the season, but KCP will have played an MVP-like role when it's said and done.

Good points. I personally like what I've seen from him and the team is better for him being here.Kent wrote:It has to be said that KCP's impact goes beyond the numbers.

I don’t disagree…he’s a very good player who fits the culture.
Anyone who thinks he left DEN and chose ORL, regardless of the money, strictly for the situation, should stick to romance novels.
No doubt he liked what he saw and heard and how he’d fit…but he went for the money…which is fine (it’s not like he took the money to play for a bad team). My complaints are not so much anti-KCP…It’s more about what we didn’t add and what needs we didn’t address.
Not too late to bolster this team’s offense. Add a Sexton-type scorer off the bench and become a SERIOUS contender…these “miracle” feel-good wins are awesome surprises and very promising as to what ORL could be at full strength, but it’d be nice to start being EXPECTED to win, against anyone, especially at home.

In 20 games during Denver's playoff championship run, he averaged 46/38/83

His defense has been terrific. He strips the ball tremendously.

yes...between him and Suggs, it's just a miserable experience for opponents...no rest at all

I'm really ready for AB to step back up into the core contributors in the same way...when he's on, he's really good-just needs to be more often.

I hate when he misses just about all his open 3's even though he's a 3 pt specialist but i agree I think we're better as a team with him on board.
