We've really rebuilt this team and fully of young talent.

Add on a top 2025 pick and we could be really interesting and fun next year. Need Poeltls understudy / replacement

Even Pre Ingram I really liked the team with BBQ.

Its a stacked team with BBIQ with Purtle's veteran leadership. Leave Booshe and find another big piece off the bench and this team can compete.

For those who have been unhappy/complaining about Ujiri, I'm genuinely curious who you'd replace him with that is available?

I think the acquisition of Ingram is a terrific move (we only trade our expiring contracts and got a 27 year old All-Star).

We now have a legit starting lineup heading into next season, that's still relatively young.

If things don't pan out, we have the pieces now to put together a compelling package for a star player.

Masai is talent hunting, and the fact of the matter is that he converted two benchwarmers into a star player.

Within a season he turned Siakam and OG (both expiring contracts).... into.... Ingram, Quickley, Barrett, Ochai, Walter, Mogbo

That's insanely impressive. Let's not forget that he also turned Jalen McDaniels (who is no longer in the league) into 3 second round picks, including Jamal Shead.

Masai seems to have his mojo back after a couple seasons of making questionable decisions (e.g., Poeltl trade, losing players to free agency, etc.)

It's a welcomed sight.

Some are fearful that these recent acquisitions may affect our tank, as there is a a lot of FUD being spread by Toronto media as about the FO trying to make a play-in push. But that is far from the case.

We are already locked into the bottom 5-6 range of the league standings. We're not catching the Hornets for #4, and we're not surpassing 76ers (who are 5 games ahead) for #7.

The recent stretch where we went 7-1 is what cost us a bottom 3 seed. Ironically, the guys we traded away at the deadline (Bruce, Kelly, Davion) played a large part in us winning those pointless games. Masai trading away the vets proves he's dead set on the tank. We likely won't see BBQ + Ingram share the floor together this season. Quickley and Poeltl will remain out with hip injuries, Ingram will take his sweet time coming back into the lineup, and RJ and Scottie will be in & out of the lineup.

I am not saying he hasnt done a decent job (I gave him a B) but why are you only mentioning OG and Siakam were expiring and not that ingram and IQ were expiring?

He chose to pay IQ and Ingram (we assume) and RJ over OG and Siakam. Now I am not saying that is bad, as he was able to get a few other assets out of it in Ochai and Walter. But I am also dont think the new guys are some big win either. OG and Siakam are still the 2 best players of the 5, but assuming Ingram comes in at a reasonable price, its a 3 for 2 on the roster, so they can spread out the talent.

Overall its a fine "rebuild" given the short time but we have to wait and see how it all plays out. Its not impossible, and I would say even its more likely this team is worse than the FVV, OG, Siakam team. At least now they added Barnes to that. I just dont know why everyone thinks its an A+ genius rebuild when they had OG/FVV/Siakam and they wanted a rebuild. The defense is significantly worse than the old core and offense is probably worse as well unless Ingram is healthy and repeats his 1 all-star season.

A lot of uncertainty and questions raised with this team's fate/ceiling remaining largely unchanged. C/D That remains same as before until we know what Ingram is signed to and what pick we end up with. If Ingram is overpaid and we fail the tank, then F. If opposite, solid B or B+.

I guarantee there are posters that hope we drop in the draft lottery just so they can complain.

I said it before, it felt like the 2021 years onward were Bobby running things while Masai was paying too much time to Giants of Africa.

Then seems like he had to take over the controls again and certainly in the last year's, these seem way more like Masai type moves.

Like Duff said, next step is to find a Yak understudy. Need a reliable backup next year.

I voted A.

OG, Precious and Flynn for RJ, IQ and Mogbo = A

Siakam, Thad and a 2031 second for Ingram, Ochai and Ja'Kobe = A

McDaniels for Shead and 2 additional seconds = A+

This is always a trick question because nobody knows who all the executives are around the league.

I hate his approach to team building and I don’t think he has any plan to build a sustainable contender.

Being Sacramento of the East doesn’t excite me at all.

Judging by the public speech, I think Bobby advocated trading Siakam, but Masai said no, and he bought Jakob before the famous deadline buy.

Lol not a trick question, just curious because if someone thinks he's doing a bad job, then they must have alternative(s) who they believe would do a better job, or is it just a case of the grass is greener and anyone else would be better?

My take is, is he perfect, no of course not, no GM has a perfect track record, but I feel he's done a very solid job overall, especially for a team that has trouble attracting impactful free agents. He knows this, so he trades for impactful players.

I voted A, no + because they should have also traded Boucher for a 2nd rd pick. If you want him back next year then re-sign him in the offseason

Still has work to do to build an actual contender but we are definitely on our way.
Has build a really nice starting lineup and some really nice young bench depth incredibly quickly. I still can’t believe he found 3 good young players in that dogshite draft. I’m pretty stoked to see what this team looks like next year with 2 more draft picks incoming. I really don’t understand how some people are still down on him after this masterclass.
