What are they paying? I’ll babysit Luka to make sure he gets in at a reasonable hour on game nights.

Assumed they’d be paid a lot more tbh. Maybe there are bonus incentives? And maybe can still work with outside clients

With all this talk about Luka and his fitness going mainstream, if he doesnt come back looking like a roided up freak, ill be very disappointed.

Everything went south after Finley decided that he knew better than the franchise's best player.

He needs to babysit the medical and coaching staff, to make sure they let Luka heal his injuries before they rush his return to play.

As an American, the low pay (even in Texas - but in California?!?!?) was what jumped out the most to me about the whole OP.

For the small price of $5,250,175 and a public acknowledgement of my rizz, I will design a treadmill that heats up a hookah machine.

For Los Angeles, considering they want an individual plan for everyone on a 15-team roster, this actually sounds like a low-ball offer to me lol

Well, it is Lakers organization, and economy in LA is way different, but over here, a lot of people make like 10k a year and their jobs are also hard. Managing 16 athletes does not seem that terribly hard, of course there is accountability and all, these are not random dudes from a GYM, but, you could buy a low tier Euroleague player with 250k.

No comment on who has hard jobs, but...

Cost of living, my man. Living 6.5 years in Asia taught me that exchange rates tell you nothing about how far money goes in a given economy. There are some places where you can live like a prince on "$2,000" a month, and others where'd you'd probably be homeless and hungry on "$2,000" a month.

I used to hear "people in Africa live on a dollar a day" and think "so they're lucky to eat once a month?" No, meals cost less than 50 cents where they live.

I'm no economist, but like I said, I have a lot of firsthand experience with this phenomenon. You feel it differently when you live somewhere and have to pay for everything (rent, phone bill, insurance, documents, generic clothing, etc.) at local rates, as opposed to when you travel.

One obvious incentive is you get to work for the Lakers. That's probably worth 50-100k a year for the right applicant. I would hope there are also lots of expenses paid for all the travel; per diem and stuff. It does sound low. I dunno.

True!

And take away his cigarettes, too!

If this job opportunity entails taking beer and cigarettes and making them 'disappear' I think I'm qualified.

Sorry if I come off harsh. Just got back from the grocery store. Spent $142 and probably didn't get enough food for one day.

$45 (nearly $49 after tax) on shaving blades...

Nico looking better each day lol

This is sad. They literally only had half a season of Luka and already have to resemble the entire training staff. Not a good look for Luka.

Hopefully this is the final straw that gets him serious about staying in shape.

Median full time salary in California is $70k.
80% of salaries fall between 30k and 155k in LA.

How can a salary 3.5 times the median be considered low?
