No matter how you feel about Thibs going forward this is the right takeaway for today. He helped turnaround a franchise that had basically been a joke this century. And a lot of previous organizational flaws are gone. He isn't solely responsible for this change but he did contibute. I'll appreciate him for that.

And you can feel that way even if you think he wasn't the guy to turn a low 50 win team into a low 60s win, title contender.

This feels almost as good as when I got the notification that we parted ways with Pringles.

THAT was a beautiful day.

Thank you Thibs for helping make Knicks relevant again. He was a great coach who did some really good stuff here.

Part of me wonders if Thibs asked to step down and be more involved in a lesser role. He may see what happened to Pop in SA and decided to step down.

In any case, this is the right move, assuming there's an upgrade of a candidate in my mind. Whether he stays in a lesser role or not, Thibs deserves our utmost respect.

I didn’t expect them to pull the trigger on that one. Very interested to see who we bring it.

I think it had to be done though. Thibs limits the ceiling you can reach

A GM that just brought in a player for 5 first round picks and then a 250Million dollar contract wasnt going to stsnd for those players underwhelming or having their weaknesses exposed.

This is wild.

I know everybody is excited here, but the Knicks better have a good replacement in mind.

Say what you want about Tom, and I'm was one leaning that he should get fired, you can't really say he lost the locker room. I think the players, Brunson in particular, liked him a lot.

The thing I fear now is that this was a James Dolan decision. And we all know, when he's the one calling shots, **** goes sour.

This could be our Doug Collins to PJax moment. Or it can be another JVG to Don Chaney

It would have been better off just keeping Thibs if it's Mike Malone. Malone isn't that much better than Thibs, if at all.
