I’ve mentioned this once before: I have a legitimate contact inside the Illinois athletic department who told me the team concealed the extent of his injury and how badly it was impacting his game for strategic reasons. He told me this in real time, not as a way to explain it away after the fact.

He’s a stud. I would give up real assets to move up to get him. He has core player written all over him. I really hope AK strongly considers moving up, especially if KJ is still there at 9 or 10.

It would not surprise me if come draft day, and after workouts, he goes closer to the earlier projections that had him around 6.

I would love AK to be aggressive and move up but that doesn't seem to be his style.

It's interesting that the majority seem to agree that Asa Newell and Egor Demin as the consensus players that AK will likely choose between.
Here to argue about nonsensical things and suck away your joy. :kissmybutt:

I would have voted KJ but I don't think he'll be there.
CBS has him 6.
Givony has him 10.
Ringer has him 10.

I have no idea.

I’ve said this before… not sure if this is reason for alarm or not, but so far, the only “good” picks by AKME have been guys who inexplicably dropped to their position (way lower than mocks): Ayo and Matas. Phillips looks like a solid find; they did reach for him via trade. But all the others, when they didn’t pick the “obvious” pick, results have been rough.

So from that regard, if Malauch, Queen, Kasparas drop to 12… AK will take the talent drop… and it’ll probably be the right move. Just feels like we’re in a decent place to capitalize again on a talent slip.

More worried if he takes a huge reach. No way the Drake Powell buzz has to do with #12 (way too much of a jump for a 2nd rd prospect).

Fleming does intrigue me, along with a few other bigs (Beringer, and of course Egor). I hope the Bulls look into adding another lower FRP if they pursue these other prospects… prevent getting clever with #12.

I’m cool with cleaning house on our C rotation. Sell Collins’ expiring, dump Vuc, maybe even sell Jalen. They need to dump and open roster spots.

Vuc wouldn’t help protect the Lakers’ rim, but he’d be a serviceable big. I’d offer Vuc and Jevon for Kleiber, Vincent and Knecht. Start assembling a 3P cast. With Coby and Huerter, maybe Patrick finds his rhythm… the spacing options would be really good.

We need more lights-out 3P shooters on the bench. Our spacing is deplorable when Huerter and Coby sit.

Then you pick up that most talented creator/ballhandler at 12 (Kasparas, Queen, Egor, etc.), let them develop on the bench unit. If they bust, they bust, but to me the talent floor is high. Their NBA careers are in their hands- if they work hard, it’s nonsensical for a tall playmaker to bust… evaluate personality more than their flaws.

Go for the offensive talent at 12 (unless it’s Malauch, who has preposterous wingspan/defensive potential). Trade/add another mid/late FRP if you want some athletic freak raw prospect who has concrete hands (Powell, Fleming, etc.).
