If he takes the max extension, they should sign him.

Yea, not sure how he may feel about a permanent reserve role though. Reason #1292 to trade Anthony Day to Day

i don't think we have a lot of room for him honestly and he is very bad at the 3... Tough choice.

Word is they will offer him 4 for $88M. He’s a part of the present and future of the team unless the Mavs get a deal they can’t refuse.

They should trade Gafford and extent PJ.

Yes they resign for sure, we will see if he likes a back-up role and limited minutes.

Agree, 2 no shooter bigs (and street clothes) are a bad combo in 2026.
But the problem is how many games Lively can play, probably they wait to see that before make any decision.

AD should play 5, Gafford should be traded for 1 or 2, problem is what to do with Lively.
With normal GM, AD should be traded, but we're not in that realm.

Lively has lost the most with Luka gone. I would trade him, if Gafford stays, while he has some value.

Yes, AD is the backup center, Mavs need a 3rd stringer as backup like Richards.
Gafford was extended with that in mind.
After 2024, I thought PJ would be crazy to extend, now he must extend.
Both he amd Lively were hurt the most.

This team will be incredibly hard to manage... Because after next season, extension to Lively is also coming up. This roster is seriously constructed TO WIN NOW. Aka, Kyrie needs to be fully healthy and AD does need to watch out for his groin to not get hurt again.

Not necessarily, Lively is not needed anymore, if they can get good return for him. PJ/Gafford/Lively, 2 are expendable. Lively value has plumbed with Luka's departure. He was great fit with Luka, not great fit with Kyrie//Flagg/AD.

I can't imagine them trading Lively, in general, he was also much more versatile on defense than Gafford plus he's obviously younger. He's also one of fan favorites and doesn't drink lemonade, so i see no reason why Nico would trade him.

You’re crazy my man if you think Lively is finished growing as a player. I have a feeling we will see Lively taking more 3’s and becoming an actual threat from there. This league is starting to move away from the super teams and from the Warriors style play. The big man is coming back and right now the Mavs have the best collection of bigs in the league. They still need a young elite PG though. Maybe that’s what PJ will be moved for? This team isn’t a finished product. I feel there is another big move coming.
