Gobert just clowning Vuc out there. I hope this is just Vuc not giving 10% effort in preseason.

I assume it is the Coby role

Spot on. With the way the team is built around Giddey being the PG, we need a guard to chuck 3's on the wing to allow for spacing.

Is there a problem with the league.

Collins did a lot better. Vuc is not being physical.
He is complaining

I fear a really bad start to this season. I think we are lottery bound again.

The 5th starter still hasn't been established yet.

I honestly think it could be anyone out of Huerter, Okoro, Ayo or even Tre.

I would bet Billy will have a revolving door for that 5th starter to begin the season.

This is why I think it could be ugly out the gate. I wouldn't panic though.

:dontknow: Buz looks like a 2026 all-star to me. He might get the Franz "I deserve it but won't get it cause I'm too young" treatment, but he looks ready. Completely comfortable scoring, defending and handling against one of the best defenses in the league.

Everybody looks fine when Vuc is not in the game. He is such a detriment to the concept that Billy wants. It's so nonsensical seeing him out there.

And yeah; shooting is essential. I'm still opposed to starting Okoro. Huerter's spacing adds a lot, despite his flaws. I also would kind of rather see Terry, Phillips, Noa and Smith play off that bench. Even Pat, if for no other reason than trading him (but seriously, his 3P% makes his zombie IQ a wash with Okoro's more aggressive game). But alas. Hopefully Bulls do the unthinkable and move Vuc and Okoro sooner than later.

Is it controversial to say that Buzelis is a significantly better prospect than Wagner? It shouldn’t be.

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.

NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

I wouldn't say so, although Wagner has 4 strong seasons (plus the Euro championship) of proof, whereas Matas has 20 games or whatever. Matas is definitely flashing better potential as a 3P shooter and making highlight reels. Franz is more of a meat-and-potatoes glue guy. I do think Franz is establishing himself as a top-5 forward in the East. In good company.

As draft prospects, Matas seemed much higher on the boards all year until the Ignite buried him. I was surprised Franz went at #7, and more surprised he ended up making the Vuc trade the worst trade in Bulls history.

Whilst Wagner is probably a better wing and ball handler, the fact that I can envision Matas almost anchoring the defense means he's a better prospect. Franz hasn't improved his shooting either whereas Matas has time to become a legit distance threat.

Finally tuning in to this season. So we basically have the same team again?

Wow, sucky response to a great showing by the Bulls tonight. Great fun. Most importantly, nobody got injured tonight.

Matas had a great all-around game. His shot blocking is really impressive.

Giddey looked good with a near trip dub.

Jones is going to be so important to this team. He is ALMOST Caruso-level. And he's better on the offensive end.

Glad that Smith find his groove after a slow start to preseason. He was active and making stuff happen on both ends.

Noa was active out there and has good defensive instincts.

Terry and Phillips both look better than Pat out there.

Carter is a useful microwave.

Huerter looked rusty, but at least he got to shake some rust off.

My quick assessment after this preseason is I don't think we truly established anything in it.

Other than confirming that Matas is awesome, we know nothing of how the regular season will be.

We have had too many guys out.

The play were after a terrible Vuc pass Matas guarded 3-1, hustled his ass off then blocked the shot was wild, even for preseason. Dude has some defensive mobility and instinctual aggression..
