You are correct, I just feel that Howard's character is more of a benefit then Lebron's. Let's say they are tied for 1st. This is a really tough call. I mean obviously Lebron is dominant (when he feels like it). I just like what the future holds for Howard, I mean how old is the kid and bigs usually take loads of time to develop.

And plus, he had a full on conversation with my 12 month old boy, and my wife thinks he's hot so that counts for something......

And maybe if Howard got the ball a quarter as much as Lebron, he could carry the team on his massive shoulders.

That's the thing. Due to the nature of their positions, Lebron will inherently see the ball more. And that's a big reason why the best clutch scorers are almost always perimeter players.

Dwight has alot less baggage, but I think LeBron is a better player.

Tough one but I go with LeBron. Dwight can't single-handedly take over a game like LeBron can. Dwight will always be dependent on his teammates to set him up (just like most bigs) , James on the other hand creates for himself at will.

For me the #3 is definitely Chris Paul. I'd also take Bron over Howard by a slim margin.

I second this. Chris Paul is the best point guard in the league already, and he's likely going to get better.

For me it's easily Dwight. No question, Lebron is the better player though but when I take into account Lebron's attitude and most importantly, willingness, I mean in hindsight, do you really think he WANTS to play in Toronto...People need to look at the bigger picture here....I mean we've already heard of his Nike contract apparently doubling if he goes to a larger media market like Chicago, New York, or L.A and I don't want to take a risk of him bolting.

Having Dwight inside would also improve our defense astronomically and with Ford/Calderon running the show, I can see a lot of easy dunks for Dwight down low...Not only that, but I really like Dwight's personality and physically, he's a beast. I would think that his body and athleticism is second to no one when comparing him to Shaq, Robinson, etc. in their prime.

A big man is usually much easier to build around. And Howard has all the tools to own the paint on both ends of the floor for next 14 years or so. He has the right mental makeup and putting talent around shouldn't be that hard, even though Orlando's GM is making things seem difficult.

Having said that, I would still pick LeBron over Howard. I think LeBron is just incredibly special. He is a one man team on the offensive end right now, with a good spot up shooter in Gibson. Imagine him playing with other talented players. He is not one of those players that are dominating because his team struggles. He understands teamwork, he constantly tries to pass to teammates to have one of them going. He is a good leader as well.

He constantly flirts with 40-10-10 kind of triple doubles and he JUST turned 23!!

Besides skill and determination, another "must have" is leadership.
In other words who is the player that makes everybody in the team better?

So far, for me is Lebron and I dare to get DWade second if he gets back to his old form or maybe CPaul as second.

In my view, #1 ingredient for a championship team is the clutch play maker = true floor leader.

Easily Lebron. If the Cavs get another borderline allstar to play with Lebron, the eastern conference will be owned by the cavs the same way the Bulls owned it in the 90's. Lebron has the MJ like ability to completely control games. MJ > Dominant PF/C

There's no way you can pass up Lebron.
He's only one year older and already forging out an all-timer kind of legacy.
I think Dwight will be a good, if not great big man this generation, but he's not going to be a Shaq type of force.
Lebron is on pace to be one of the best ever in my opinion.

I love Dwight Howard, more than Lebron by far. But still, Lebron will probably go down as top 5 in NBA history. Imagine how good this kid will be when hes 27-31....

That's no knock on Howard who would be 2nd on my list, but LeBron is the guy you start a team with.

Dwight Howard is special in his own right but we've seen what LeBron James can do. He's done it in the playoffs where it counts the most.

It has to be LeBron James followed by Dwight Howard, Chris Paul and Greg Oden.
