I actually don't mind Collins on the bench. He doesn't complain or anything and actually talks to the young guys.

Swift is like Magloire; if he dosen't get to play, we will hear about it.

go to the memphis board...or lakers board...or chitown board....

they will have the links to an interesting article out of memphis hinting at a memphis firesale and pau could be dealt for kwame.....

then the speculation quickly turns to a 3 way with LA and NJ, with Kidd going to LA and Pau going to NJ.....just a rumor though....go to one of those boards i mention to find the link and quote...i'm tired of posting it.....you'll find it....

Actually I'd be happy to do it :)
Gasol for Kidd works very well for us if Marcus will show maturity and improve his game to a consistent level.
Thanks for the news dude.

Anyway on the subject of Swift I feel sorry for Collins but what'cha gonna do about it thats the way the things work in the NBA we HAVE to do whatever it takes to get Swift I think he might very well have the Kidd-Kmart relationship with Kidd if he comes here(that is of course if Kiddy stays).

swift has more value than collisn imo so when we / if we trade kidd he could be a nice addition to it, or jus a nice energy guy to backup swill or boone.

We have to wait 60 days after picking up someone in a trade so either Kidd is waiting till the off-season or Swift is just a love affair with Thorn.

I say we move him into the starting line-up and have sean as the 6th man. Sean seems more fit for the 6th man role. Either way it works out great because when sean checked out we had no legit shot blocker but if they both switch on and off with boon/krstic switching on and off it should be a good lineup.

hes good energy for the bench, like a swill/kmart kinda plyer tho.

same lineup, jus a better finisher alot better finisher than collins and will hustle for some boards.

If Stromile Swift is a problem child for the Grizzlies then so is Richard Jefferson for the Nets.

If we are going to go after swift, we should try to get miller too.

Swift and Miller for Collins, Magloire, Allen, and picks. I would put Nachbar in there too. We can resign him if he wants to come back.

The trade is official now. I hope Stro can be more effective in New Jersey with the run and gun scheme. Stro is the type of player that can demonstrate his athleticism on both ends of the floor as a solid contributor. He does at times can become lazy as much as I hate to say. I hope he realized that this is as best of an opportunity as he'll get. The Nets need to keep him motivated and confident so he'll be a sufficient difference with the Nets. I wish Stro the best as his time as a Grizz has come to an end and will begin his first game as a Net.

I hope Stro can play tomorrow against Pau and the Lakers, but I don't think he will...

I'm excited about Swift being a Net! I hope he can bring his best to the court and take any opportunity he gets in NJ.

For Stro's sake. I hope he does take advantage to make this chance a good one.

Ok Kobe and the Lakers reaction to the Gasol trade are all over youtube... what are the Nets' players reactions to the Swift trade?

Anyone got any vids or even text interviews with some of the Nets players?

 I don't think Stromile's arrival in NJ has the same impact on his new team.

Anyway, all I've seen is that Thorn quote from the article SD posted.

"Let me first thank Jason Collins for his contribution to the Nets over the past seven years. He was a vital member of the core group of players that went to the playoffs six consecutive years, including two NBA Finals, and we wish him the best of luck for the remainder of his career," said Thorn. "With that said, we are pleased to add Stromile to our roster. He is a player who will add athleticism and experience to our frontcourt rotation."

Stro won't have as much of an impact?? ahhhhh you're breaking my heart with that!

If Stromile gets a legit shot in NJ with the current group of Kidd, Jefferson, and Carter... the Nets might compete for the East title.

I don't see Pau making the Lakers that much better... but the big key is if he really plays hard for them defensively. They don't need his offense, they need more defenders besides just Kobe.

The fact that Pau won't have to lead in LA will be a huge weight off his shoulders.

Don't get me wrong Rag, I'd like Stro to have an positive impact but I thought the same thing when he joined the Rockets.

Return to Brooklyn Nets
