Hahah, yes i know. But a boy can dream, can't he? And I still think the time will come where the Jazz won't be able to pay Millsap as Boozer's backup what he can get elsewhere as a starter. That time should come next summer. S & T anyone?

What about Adray Blatch? At 7' and very athletic, he seems like he'd be a nice fit and someone who could match up well against the Bynums and Howards of this league. Any thoughts on what it would take to pry him away? Also, how does the MVP of the Jordan Classic get drafted at 49? That doesn't make any sense to me. Does Hoopshype have it wrong?

Another decent fit would be Amir Johnson. After these two, perhaps Charlie Villanueva or Tyrus Thomas (if the price was right).

Rasheed Wallace in his prime minus the temper.

Good athlete. Good man to man defender. Good rebounder. Good range.

Rasheed Wallace with a good attitude and mindset. Chris Webber Sacremento era would be nice too.

Amare Stoudemire from the NBA but Michael Beasley in college is who I would want. In fact i'm shocked that Beasley isn't the first choice on everyones list.

I'm not even sure Beasley would be my top collegiate choice, much less top overall.

FWIW, Brand put up 15 pts, 9 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocks in 26 minutes off the bench last night. That's 17 ppg, 7 rpg, 3 apg, 1.5 bpg in only 26 mpg so far on the season.

Do you think he opts out?? If the injury checks out, it just makes too much sense, but that injury scares me.

STChaser wrote:Forget the names out there. I want to know what your prototypical PF for this team would look like. We can then revisit our requirements and see who fits the bill. Here's my go at it;

To sum it up, my perfect PF for this team would be a two inch taller version of Thaddeus Young - a young player with smarts and freakish athleticism and length who has the frame to put on lbs as he matures. Someone who can run with this team, plays stellar defense, and has some post up moves but also decent range.

What I don't really want is a trudger. Someone like Big Baby or Robert Taylor - undersized PF's with girth but slow foot speed. I want a 6'10 gazelle running alongside Iguodala, Thaddeus, Lou, and Sam. A much more polished Serge Ibaka comes to mind. Who else fits this bill and what does your protoypical PF look like?

Andray Blatche!

There's two guys I like for the Sixers. Josh Smith and Andray Blatche. They're both young, love to run, are freaking athletes and have decent range.

Josh Smith probably would not be the perfect PF for any team- but it would be unbelievably entertaining to see Lou-Dala-Thad-JSmoove-Sam on the floor. It would be the most athletic running line-up in the history of the NBA (note I did not say best or most talented running line-up.)

It might even be so entertaining that I could overlook the fact that that team would never truly compete for a CHIP as "the suspended one" would say.

I guess so. I don't think he fits into that team so well though. A successful team cannot solely be comprised of athletic guys. You have to pair them with some shooters and inside players.

The perfect guy would be a mix of Elton Brand and Dirk Nowitzki.

hmmm, what about Andrei Kirilenko or Al Harrington?

Kirilenko could run with the young guys and has great handles and court vision for a big man (something neither Sam nor Evans have). Even Jazz fans say that he is better served as a PF then SF. The only problem is that he has a BIG BIG contract.

Al would be a more realistic option. He is a good rebounder, hard worker and can space the floor. Problem is that he is your typical tweener and is a selfish player.

That he has a big contract is unfortunate, but probably the only reason he could be available without giving up ridiculous value. If he was making ~ 10 million a year, there'd be no real reason for Utah to think about trading him.

But regardless of his salary, I think that the most important thing is that he's a great fit for what the Sixers are doing: he's very athletic, he's defensive-minded, unselfish, smart, and versatile.

Offensively, he's not an elite go-to scorer down low, but I think he'd be golden with moving without the ball and him getting easy layups from Miller. That he can hit the occasional three-pointer also helps.

And defensively, he's a monster who would fit in well next to Young and Dalembert and Iggy. That could help make the Sixers one of the best defensive teams over the coming years.

I don't have to mention this because it should be evident how much I like him, but after Brand I'd probably make going after Kirilenko my Plan B this offseason.

Al Harrington will always get his 15 - 20 ppg, but I think with his defensive and other issues, he doesn't really help a team win that much.

If the AK for Marion rumors are true, I dont see us getting AK. We dont have anyone as good as marion to offer. Im not giving up Miller for him and I highly doubt a package centered around cap space, carney and 16 could get it done. Our best asset that would interest Utah, we already gave them.

Very true.

But various aspects of the economy aren't doing so hot right now. Maybe the Jazz's owner has some failing investments and views reducing his expenses by over 30 million over the next 3-4 years as one of his top priorities.

I'm not saying that's the case or if it's even likely, but just discussing random possibilities.
