A thread suggesting who to spend the MLE and LLE on.

You cant start talking MLE and LLE till we figure out the PF problem. What we do with Haslem and Marion is going to be Huge. After we do acouple of moves and select number 2, Then we can start talking. But till then its just crazy talk. Ya i want James Jones but what if we get Josh smith for Marion.(I dont see this happening, I just made a example)

Why does Riley *have* to get rid of Haslem and/or Marion? It's important for a good team to have an experienced rotation no matter how talented your rookie is, and it doesn't get much better than Marion-Haslem-Beasley (if he's the pick, obviously). You get a versatile forward rotation that can play both sides of the ball, run or slow it down, and frees up cap space for a major summer next year.

I don't know if it's worth a downgrade in talent just to maybe free up a few more minutes for Beasley and save a tiny bit in cap space next summer. I like the forward rotation the way it stands right now, if Beasley's the pick.

The problem in a Marion/UD/Beasley setup is that they all play best at pf and there value goes down playing out of position.

UD at center wouldn't make much sense

Marion at sf when hes been a pf for most of his carrier takes away the speed advantage he has against slower pf and now since hes away from the basket will get less rebounds and will face equal or more athletic sf.

Beasley at sf would work a bit but then he would need more time to get used to playing in the post where he should flourish.

Thats the problem, thats why there are so many trade options out there for UD or Marion or both being posted. Thats not even taking into consideration Marion and his contract "request/demands"

Even if Rose is the pick you would have the same problem and no post player since Marion/UD have none and would be vastly undersized.

Give: Marion + Haslem + Wright &/or Cook

Get: Wallace + (resigned) Okafur + #9

PG: Westbrook or Augustin/Banks/Quinn
2G: Wade/Cook
SF: Wallace/Davis
PF: Beasley/Anthony
C: Okafur/Zo/Blount

We would need to look for some 3pt shooters or trade the number 9 for a PG - TJ Ford/Calderon/Baron Davis + filler? Love would probably still be there at 9, if we could get a PG with the MLE.

This team would be well balanced on both ends of the floor & young. 3 pt shooting looks to be the main weakness.

Your crack pipe must be warm today after suggesting that trade. You could get possibly one of Wallace/Okafor, but Wallace, Okafor AND the number 9 pick? No.. not happening, man.

Gerald Wallace is their franchise player pretty much, you're not gonna get their top 3 trade pieces for Shawn Marion and Udonis Haslem. Sorry.

There is absolutely no way they do that deal. We could maybe try to get one of those players, but I just don't see it happening. They wont move G-Wall at all, and it's too hard to get the salaries to match-up if we were to trade Marion for Okafor. The only way to make the salaries match-up would be something like Okafor, Felton, and Matt Carroll straight up for Marion, which they won't do. As much as I would love Okafor or Wallace on the Heat, it probably won't happen.

19 mil salary is a lot of crack coming off the books next year.

After reading the Bulls board. I'd say it's more like 70%/30% for Rose.

Now that the smokes has cleared, I think Bulls have to go with Beasley. The more i think about it the more I think the bulls would be crazy not to take Beasley. The guy is going to be a monster. I see Beasley as Dirk. The guy measured at 6"9 at the nike camp and i think will measure about 6"10 at the Orlando camp. The guy played smart all year long at K-State. The guy said in a interview that his team mates would give him crap for not being more flashy and dunking. To me, i think pat is just trying to make everyone think about rose and mayo and forget about Beasley. Trade Haslem/Banks for a Starting PG(Calderon  ) and we are in the playoffs. Year after year we hear that Riley is looking for the next magic(Odom,Walker) and now he has it in Beasley. Check out some video of him at OakHill and you can see the guy is a Freak.

C-Zo-Blount
PF-Beasley
SF-Marion-Dorrel
SG-Wade
PG-Calderon

I see Erik running alot this year and for about 8-10 minutes a game i could see a lineup of Beasley-Marion-Dorrel-Wade-PG. You let marion expire and resign Dorrel(Hopefully he becomes what most think he can be) and Sign some Role players and 2010 you go after a big time FA.

What Riley liked about Magic and Walker (and Odom) is their point-forward abilities. Think he's taken a look at Randolph?

Yeah, Randolph is probably someone he's really going to keep an eye on. But since Riley isn't coaching anymore, I would think he'd want to choose someone that will be more tailored to fit Spoelstra's game plan.
