You're referring to Yost, of course. I agree 100%

I was at the game, and when he took out shouse I joked to my buddy and said that yost will probably bring in someone horrible like Aquino. I was expecting cordero to come in. It's gotten to the point where you can predict what ned yost is going to do by thinking of the worst possible move you can make at the time. And ned will do it.

I was hoping the start of September meant the end of dicking around and playing with wins like that. Sitting there in the middle of the eighth while the park was dead, I couldn't help thinking of Prince a couple weeks ago along the lines of "if we score ___ (7 today) runs, that should be good enough for a win."

As for the original question, I was wondering the same thing. Watching him score from 1st later on was something to behold, and I couldn't believe it, but the wild pitch and passed ball were just ridiculous. I guess I could catch the replay on FSN right now to see how ridiculous, but I'm not going to. Sheets outpitched Oswalt today through the same number of innings, and McClung, Turnbow, Aquino and Spurling blew it, I'll throw Hardy and Estrada in there too.

I'm not the biggest Yost supporter, especially these days, but when 4 different relievers just can't do it for you, it's hard to say he should have pitched the other 4. Even the other 2 relievers couldn't keep the inherited runners off the board. Anyone else as nervous as me when Linebrink went in? What's anybody supposed to do with that steaming pile any more? I agree though that I could not believe Aquino was coming in.

Yost knew the numbers regarding Pence and his success against lefties, not the difference between Shouse and Aquino. Either way, he ****ed up

My dear friend, you are wasting your energy. By this time you should have realized that I refuse to let my perceptions be altered by anything as trifling as actuality.

To actually answer your question MD, I'm really not sure whether Leyva waved him to 3rd to Estrada chose to go, but I would go with the latter in that Estrada was thinking the throw was going home rather than to third

I don't know for sure either, but it had better not have been the former, as Estrada was still rounding second as the centerfielder was picking up the ball in shallow center.

As far as Estrada is concerned, it's one thing to be slow as molasses, but it's much worse to be a f*cking snail and to refuse to make the effort to adjust your baserunning strategy accordingly (I could bring this back around to point the finger at the manager, but I'll lay off the poor guy. He's had a tough enough day as it is).
