Honestly, I'm okay with giving up Parker either now or near the trading deadline. If the rumors of him going back to Europe are true, then we need to extract some value from him while he's here. And I would imagine he has some value around the league.

Why would they want Bargnani? They just traded Mayo for Love. If they get him, they'll have the same issues we have with trying to get a #1 pick playing time.

If Minny ever wants to give away Brewer, I'd gladly take him.

His jumper is horrible but the guy is a complete defensive menace, he'll be on many 1st team All-NBA defensive teams if he doesn't shoot his way out of the league first. But ya, needs serious work on his shooting.

haha so we offer the two biggest assets (Bargnani and the first rounder) for Miller

I dont think Harrington can play the 3 can he? And if he can wont it create problems because he cant guard 3's, maybe 3's that post up but not ones that go to the basket , also if we get rid of parker we are even worse defensively in the 2/3 positions i wouldnt mind Jackson

AkelaLoneWolf wrote:It might be a good idea to go after Al Harrington. He had a bit of a bad season so his value is pretty low. Also, GS will have trouble keeping their payroll below the tax threshold, so a deal of Parker + Hump + Graham should help them round out their roster. Harrington's contract also expires in 2010 offseason, so it doesn't mess with BC's long term plans.

Ugh.

Where would this team play Harrington? He's an undersized 4.

I'll wager on the latter happening before the former.

McCants and Foye would be interesting to get. Maybe Hump? He played for the U or Minn.

It's happened quite a bit, but it's definitely not common. A fairly recent one I can think of off the top of my head is Rasheed Wallace.

Portland traded Sheed to the Atlanta Hawks. He played one game for them, and after the game, he was traded to the Detroit Pistons.

I'm not sure how easy it will be in this situation. If I'm not mistaken, they also took Cardinal's contract back in this trade as well. So they might not be willing to part with Miller so easily. If they were looking to slash payroll for the sake of slashing payroll, a trade exception might do the trick, of which I believe GS has one of equal value from the Richardson trade.

I think Minny would most likely trade Miller to a team who's willing to also absorb Cardinal's contract.

If they traded Miller + Cardinal to Cleveland for Wally's expiring, Minny could be huge players in FA next summer.

Forget Miller. I love the idea of nabbing Corey Brewer. Especially as his "value" is so low now -- after a so-so rookie season in which he looked about 60 pounds underweight. This guy can flat out defend and he's a great athlete with a few more pounds.
Addding him and Azumbuike as FA to the 2-3 and you have some great finishing defensive-minded players to complement Bosh-Jo and Calderon and guard several positions... not as much offensive as you'd hope but there's still good potential there too.
Parker + Hump. for Brewer + fill.
Sign Azumbuike with the remaining cap.
Calderon/Ukic
Azum./Kapono
Moon/Brewer/Graham
Bosh/Jawai
O'neal/Bargs
