I really think that Wilt would be a complete chump in todays league because he played against a bunch of midgets. I laugh at people who think Wilt is dominant

This has got to be the most ignorant post of all time. Read up on Wilt before you post such trash. Remember, they changed the rules to hold Wilt back. Today, only Shaq would be a worthy opponent.

I think Wilt was approaching 7'3" in his prime.
There's a pic of him and LeBron and they look the same size.
He's probably grown a bit since HS, but not much.
Bad pic, LeBron is closer to the camera.
Manocad wrote:I'm at work and can't see the picture, but I've seen plenty of pictures of Wilt in which he EASILY appears to be 7' plus. I'll agree with others in the sense that if he were measured in his prime with shoes he'd go 7'2" without a doubt.
EDIT: There's an old picture of him in his young NBA days standing underneath the hoop. He has both arms up with his hands grabbing the net, and his hands are about 1/3 up the net with his elbows still being bent slightly.

Wilt seemed taller than what he was listed as because everyone else was much shorter compared with today's NBA. Wilt was probably 7'0.
He would still dominate in today's NBA (Shaq like numbers, 30/15/3.5 or so in his prime)

* Wilt himself said all his career that he was 7-1 1/16.
* The player's doors in Detroit were 7-3. When Wilt passed through w/shoes, he had to duck.
* Team mate Mel Counts, a seven footer, was dwarved by Wilt.
* In 1980, Wilt (44 years old) was measured at 7-0 1/2 barefoot.

Iran Haddadi wrote:Guys keep in mind that part of the reason he looks longer is because of the tight short shorts and tight jersey's back then. Shaq used to look longer back when he was first in league and the clothes weren't as baggy.
G-Heel wrote:Dwight should be closer to 6'10 without shoes than 6'9. In that bad picture, he still look like an inch taller than BronBron. The team USA picture is more accurate, Bosh look taller though, which is about right, don't know why they put Dwight first. Probably because of the Nike/Adidas thing.
