that's why they got him  he's gonna be used only in redzone situations ala jacobs in his rookie year.

if you notice in this draft, reese has given eli weapons of every kind and they all have good hands(except barden, but he offers height). nicks has good hands, beckum has good hands, and brown has good hands.

Ramses Barden's best route is a fade route, something Eli loves. Him having Ramses Barden in the red zone is deadly. Hakeem Nicks will be the number 1 polished route runner, with great hands, he will be the deep threat.

nfl network said we should have traded for edwards. i agree but am still happy.

I agree too, but what can you do? It's good Reese didn't cave in. We might have a situation like Shockey develop, wherein Arizona and Cleveland decide to trade Boldin or Edwards later. But they would have missed training camp with us. It will be a 'learning season' for our offense next year. Because of our green receivers, I only see 9 and 7 at best. But we'll be better the year after next. It's a shame though because our defense has reloaded and is primed again. Oh well, what can you do. I still didn't want Reese to overpay for Boldin or Edwards.

If the Giants were to get Boldin or Edwards they would have held out because they would want a contract right away. I saw a 9 and 7 last year when osi went down and we saw what happened.

seriously??

the giants will have if not the best, then one of the best defenses in the nfl and yes the giants recieving core is young but i honestly believe that a training camp on manning working with hixon and smith consistently and getting on the same page will help.

remember, hixon was a special teamer being thrown into the fire and having to learn the plays burress and eli had -- it's not easy.

the steelers weren't a good a offensive team but their defense kept them in games ... that's what this team will do, although i believe in the recievers.

Yes'm. I actually think 8-8 is more like it. Do you remember how we played down the stretch last season without Plax? We tanked down the stretch, around 1-4. While I don't expect us to be that bad, I think we'll be closer to a .500 team. Assuming we don't trade for a veteran wideout before the season, that is. Yes, I know our defense will be good. They'll keep us in games.

this reminds me of 2007 when you're hating and have no faith on the team and prediciting a losing year, i was the complete opposite and look what happened :)

funny how on the giants forum it's bizaro world for you and me ;)

Interesting sidebar to the draft... Iggles spoiled our bid to get Maclin...

Giants Had Trade In Place To Take Maclin
29th April, 2009 - 10:26 am
Star-Ledger - The Giants reportedly had a deal in place to move up to the 20th pick in order to take Missouri receiver Jeremy Maclin.

Their plan was foiled when the Eagles moved to the 19th pick and selected Maclin.

New York settled for North Carolina's Hakeem Nicks with the 29th pick.

Hoo! The supposed price on Boldin...

Reid: Price For Boldin Was Too High For Us
13th May, 2009 - 10:32 am
Philadelphia Inquirer - Eagles coach Andy Reid said on Tuesday in an interview with WIP-AM (610) that the team inquired about Cardinals receiver Anquan Boldin prior to last month's draft.

He added that Philadelphia felt the price was too high, hinting that Arizona wanted a first-, third- and fifth-round pick.

"That's a lot of picks, No. 1," Reid said. "And then you're going to pay the guy $10 million. So you get hit on both sides of it."

:o I thought they went down to a second rounder, from a first...

One more follow up. FYI, Condon is Eli's agent. Hmm...

Boldin Chooses Condon As New Agent
2nd June, 2009 - 8:57 am
ESPN - Cardinals general manager Rod Graves confirmed on Monday that receiver Anquan Boldin has hired Tom Condon as his new agent.

"I look forward to working with him on this deal whenever we can get the opportunity to concentrate on it," Graves said of Condon.

Boldin, who has long been looking for a new deal in Arizona, recently fired agent Drew Rosenhaus. Graves wasn't sure whether the switch would make it easier for the two sides to agree on something.
