A very reasonable opinion ... and also a good example of why Boston fans are pretty concerned about getting their fouls called.
agreed.

What exactly equates to Pau "showing up?"
How he played in the Suns series?
How he played in the Jazz series?

What are your thoughts about that fellas?
I mean, we'll soon find out...

Rondo is way more dangerous now than he was 2 years ago and 2 years ago you guys had Kobe playing off of Rondo....how did that help?
It didn't.
Play off of Rondo this time and Rondo will make you guys pay and then some.

Simply put theres no better way to run this for us. Kobe on Allen wastes his legs and beats him up on the screens for little defensive advantage, and you lose Kobe's ability to help and sag. And then you have Fish trying to stay with Rondo which is tough for him.
Then there is the complaining about cross matching... which favors LA more imo. If the Cs get caught in cross match, its instantly to the post for Kobe and an easy shot or double draw. Conversely so what, you are right back to original matchups. Makes it important to rebound and get offensive boards and tip and to get quality shots so we can get back, but thats a given regardless to keep Rondo out of transition as much as possible.
There is simply no advantage to play this straight up. REGARDLESS of how well Rondo plays, its better to have Kobe sagging and disrupting and saving his legs. At worst Rondo plays as well as he would against Fish, at best he gets stuck taking a lot of jumpers and not getting into the paint as much.

Meh--it's all about context.
Pierce played poorly against the Lakers this season once this season--but he also had an awful game 3 days prior to playing the Lakers-only 4 pts against the Magic(who he just destroyed last series)and then was absolutely awful in February.
In February, it became clear that some nagging injuries- a strained knee against the Wizards were bothering Pierce-- his numbers for the month of February were:
11.7 points, 36% shooting, 25% shooting from behind the arc (and he won the 3 pt contest this year)...so basically, he was injured in February, and him playing badly against the Lakers had very little to do with them....
So basically, he played 1 game against the Lakers and was sub-par in it...He also played the Magic 3 days prior and did awful against them....so 1 game is obviously too small a sample size to really say anything about the Pierce v. Artest matchup.
We'll see tonight though.
Damn

Lakers in 4 or 5. We're the more physical team we played that way the whole season minus when we got plagued with injuries in march. I'm just calling it how I see it and Fish, Kobe, Artest, and Bynum physically beat down the league this year up until the injuries. All the doubters let's see if they got something to say after the game.
And to add insult to injury we're gonna steal Nate from them in the offseason.
