Re: Rockets Sign Lin To Larger Offer Sheet
seems half the people posting in this thread a Knick fans, but I couldn't help myself. Congrats guys. I'm sorry to see Lin go.
I still don't know if he's a PG. During Linsanity (Dantonity) . . . OK, maybe that doesn't work, but in that 19 game stretch he was averaging 4.8 TOs per game which would have set the single season record, and NY was 10-9.
Under Woodson, his numbers came back down to earth, 15/6 with 3.4 TOs, fewer minutes, but NY was 6-1 during that stretch. Then he got hurt and was out the rest of the year.
I think it's safe to say that Lin's an unknown, but he might also be a gem and a steal for what you signed him for. Smart player, scrappy defender, works incredibly hard both on the court and off the court to get stronger. Tendency to tire during games so he might be better playing 30 MPG not 36. Quick first step. Tends to be a little bit ball dominant, and played SG in college.
I know that NY would have had 4 PGs if we'd kept him, but I'm still sorry we didn't keep him and I wish him the best in Houston. I'll be rooting for you guys and for Lin and I hope you get Dwight too cause I think Lin and Dwight are perfect for each other, cause Dwight's not as good on offense as he thinks, and I think they'd make a good pair.
Also hope hope the Laker's and Nets don't get him.

Congratulations on acquiring a defensively incapable point guard with unproven overall skills. Has good IQ though. Maybe he will help his teammates graduate from open-universities or online courses.
Man, your such an idiot... Lin unproven but able to gave the Knicks a playoff chance = 25 million for 3 years. Your proven player Carmelo and Stat for 80 million in 2 years = 2 playoff wins...C'mon man.... lol

Nah don't think so. At worst he is a 15/7 kind of player and you only overpaid by 1-2 mill. per year. At worst. 8mill. a year is worth the gamble on such a young player.....

Me either. The Knicks cannot possibly be this dumb. They have to be trolling the Rockets.

Phil Taylor @SI_PhilTaylor
We call some guys can’t-miss after 25 college gms. But 25 starts vs NBA comp. proves nothing? Y consider #Lin fraudulent, not promising?

Congrats, Houston. For any of you who say it's a small sample size, and trot out the arguments about one week wonders and flukes, read this: http://fivethirtyeight.blogs.nytimes.co ... -no-fluke/
Notice that the mathematical model used filters out flukes like Flip Murray, who is no where on the list.
Houston lucked out, because the Knicks have a 3-yr-old child named Dolan throwing a temper tantrum because his ego got hurt.

If that is the numbers that he put up then that is fair market value and a good signing.

You know I think alot of us would like that but, I really believe we are getting Howard.
So far looks like Morey draft picks aren't too bad... I know its only summer league.
But Royce White is the best passer(at least most exciting passer) in this '12 draft.
Sullinger looked nice.
Oops Teague plays tonight!

Marshall, and it's not even close.
By the way, why you'd want to grab Howard? he isn't going to stay to play with the Houston Magic and a bunch of rookies, if I was you, I'd prefer Bynum.
