Re: Official Philadelphia Eagles Discussion Thread
We will have a good idea what they will do in the draft after FA starts. We need OLB, s, and cb.

I would have rather them signed Byrd but I guess he wanted more than they were willing to pay him. Hopefully they go after at least one of Revis or Ware now.

Solid but boring signing. Time to wait and see what Byrd gets to gauge my disappointment.

Yea you're an idiot if you think Howie was ever going to do that kind of a deal.

Ed Reed and Palumalu of the Steelers when younger and healthy were 10x what Byrd is. Byrd isn't that great.

Yeah we only signed one of the worst Safeties in the game. Sad part while last season was a bad season for him. He was even more terrible two years prior. But hey we didn't spend much so maybe Jenkins has a career year.
I'd like someone who actually has watched Jenkins to tell me what he brings to this team because the press conference mumbo jumbo "Potential to get better, young, doesn't cost as much as J.Byrd". Anyone? O well

Re: Official Philadelphia Eagles Discussion Thread
he can play multiple positions and fits what they are looking for their safeties to do
he was pretty much the best guy available for what they want from the position besides byrd who isnt worth that money

Re: Official Philadelphia Eagles Discussion Thread
I think Chip knows what he is doing. It's always funny to hear from the armchair GMs that the Eagles didn't sign the right guy but the Eagles had a great draft and signed some good FAs last year.

Every move the eagles name isn't always the right one. The fact you start your post with "I think" is very telling. It's funny to hear that from eagles fans who feel every move, non move draft pick made is the right one. Stop

Re: Official Philadelphia Eagles Discussion Thread
even better value when you examine the contract. only a 1 mil base this year for a 2.6 cap hit overall. in 2016 if hes cut its only 1.6 dead money

Denver isn't messing around. Talib, Ward (at a bargain compared to what other safeties have gotten), and now maybe Ware?

Well for one, he's not "one of the worst safeties in the game". He's not great but he's a good 3rd safety with potential to be a starter.
The thing is he's a team player and is really liked as a hard worker.
Also Byrd got severely overpaid.
