If we wind up losing it will be because Houston is the better team, plain and simple and D'Antoni outcoached Kerr which so far seems to be the case.

Although he's been great at times, Curry matches up well with Paul for the most part and no none seems to matchup well with Gordon for the Warriors. And then subtract Iquodala from the Warriors and I don't think that Houston will be hurt too much )although their depth will as is the Warrior depth due to Iguodala's loss). Still very close between the two teams.

Gordon could probably replace the scoring but he's not going to be able to salvage dead possessions and manufacture points the way Chris Paul does.

Since CP3 will be out for game 6 and probably game 7 .

This is very crucial for Rockets, they shorten out their rotation into 7 and now they have unplayable guys to replace Paul's minutes

Luc Mba A Moute has been trash, Nene and Anderson are unplayable in this series. They dont have a solid guard to pull out.

Only Green is the most reliable and you couldnt play him more than 20 minutes.

So Capela will probably play 35 + minutes too

Is that official? Either way, I read somewhere that the absolute best case, pie-in-the-sky scenario for a hamstring injury is two or three days. In most cases you're going to need at least a week or two at minimum to be ready to play again. Sucks when injuries impact a season, but here we are.

I think the tricky issue here is CP3 is coming off a contract. If he was already locked into a max deal I think he'd be far more likely to play through it. But would you risk $60 80 100+ million on one game? Look where playing hurt at the end of a contract has IT.

I should say that I definitely think he's going to play if it does get to a Game 7. Probably not very well, but everybody thought the Pistons were screwed back in the '88 Finals after Thomas got hurt, and we were lucky to beat them. So who knows what will happen. But in all likelihood, yeah, that's it for the Rockets. My nightmare scenario is them somehow pulling it out, then gifting the Celtics with a title as Paul limps around and/or sits out.

Hmmmm. The pistons didn't win when Isiah got hurt though. We won game 6 lost game 7.

No, they lost both games, but both went down to the wire. The Pistons could have easily won either game, and the series. Point being, it wasn't over when Thomas got hurt as pretty much everybody assumed. I wouldn't expect a repeat if Paul can't go in Game 7, but you never know.

Dont know the severity, but you do not wanna play on a hammy strain..that thing snaps, paul could be out for a good chunk of next season. That type of injury is very easy to aggravate

You're right it's very easy to aggravate, but unless he tears the tendon off the bone he will be fine for next season with any hamstring tear that doesn't require surgery to put it back together. He risks it I think.

all the more reason for rockets to go after lebron this summer. an insurance policy if cp3 gets hurt late in season again.

I don't think those guys are unplayable at all. I actually think they can go full opposite and go with 8-9 guy rotation. Since they are a heavy underdog anyways, why not go all out with players hungry to play and well rested. Harden will play heavy minutes offensively, but I can see the defense rising to another level. Ryan Anderson can get HOT, Joe Johnson/Nene (also the biggest guy on the court)/Moute are savy and hungry.

Houston has beaten the Warriors straight up....and total credit to D'antoni.
Regarding Paul getting injured and Warriors getting lucky....no doubt.
However, If Iggy isn't injured I have NO doubt that game 6 would be an elimination game for Houston instead of Warriors.

Anyway...total break for Warriors and they have better dam well take advantage of it. If they come out sluggish and loss yet again....there is something wrong with the team chemistry or coaching. Either way it won't look good for Kerr.

I would say Mbah a Moute is at least as good as Igoudala and his shoulder has him way less than 100%.

People excusing this series deficit because of his injury is a joke.

Kerr isn’t blameless but the players have made mistakes with bad TOs and bad fouls. Bigger than anything though is the Rockets are built to beat us and we wasted a ton of roster spots on guys we can’t play in this series which hurts with injuries to the wings we do have like Iguodala and to a much less extent McCaw. All 3 levels of coaching adjustments, player execution and roster construction though so far I think show that we underestimated the Rockets and they’re playing very good. Even if we win, they have made an awesome effort to push us to the brink. Hats off to Morey

I personally felt it was a massive mistake letting Omri Casspi go and feel it's evident that he would have been extremely valuable in this series. He was a fantastic fit with this team.
