Kanter's self awareness might be worse than his defense. It's been 2 games and in the first his playing time was cut because he got ejected and last night they got destroyed. If he kept his mouth shut and just played I wouldn't be surprised to see him continue to get 20-25 min every night.

They should just release him at this point. It would be justified.

That would be a Jordan Lebron level debate

The zone just sucks. Man, the Knicks are just not good at it. They were playing better defense man to man with any lineup, even the no defense playing guys.

But the reason they are using/have to use the zone is because they're hiding Kanter.
That is not true. They are using it because the while team doesn't know how to rotate.

I agree with you on Zion, I don't think he's as sure fire of a great player as people think. There are tons of question marks. But RJ also has holes in his game as well. There may not be a great player to come out of this draft at all.
The problem is Zion has no physical peer in college. He will in the league. He doesn't have a great half court game nor does he create much for others.

And when people sag off him and let him shoot then what. I don't if the weakside blocks will translate, either.

RJ shoots too much. But he creates for himself and others. He can handle and finish on the break and he has a natural position as a big 2 or athletic 3.

His positional defence is good and he'll be fine in a system. He rebounds in college well for his spot.

It's just there isn't another player like Zion so he's exciting, but Barrett is much more NBA ready.

He is on the surface. He may have been told differently though behind closed doors.

Kanter is the one who loses if he pushes back against a team in full rebuild mode. If he wants to land on another club with a decent deal, being a malcontent in a situation where he should understand he's not part of the plan is not a good look.

Lee and Lance seem good with it, at least they don't seem to be complaining, and they aren't in the rotation at all.

Lee even went to the G to get some reps in this season. if there is a decent offer, the team should do it, but they don't seem to be an issue.

Berman/NYDN have their drama to feast on now. They will pick this carcass clean! Kanter is making it easy. Now they're going after Lee/Thomas. Perry needs to purge the roster ASAP.

Do the vets really think they are good enough to play in this league while towing the rooks behind them?

Lee and Lance seem to like NY, and have shown to be good teammates. I do think a contender should reach out for them

Lance is a professional to the core. I have no probs with that guy staying on the team. Lee can still play and looks to be rusty. I'd like to see him dealt to a PO team. He is a likeable guy.

to move Lee I think they really need to sit Hardaway for a couple weeks. Let Lee play exclusively as a starter for 2 weeks or 20-25 minutes...show his worth again. I know teams "know" what there getting but they still need to see him contribute to invest that 2nd year.

Timmy's got the foot issue and its best to showcase Lee for a couple weeks and try to deal him in the middle of January...

Just waive him. Unless you can get another expiring contract for him plus an asset, there's no point in exploring a trade since most likely we will have to take on a long term deal. Not worth it so just let him go

If anybody, even Kanter himself, thinks Kanter should be starting over Mitchell when he returns, they have no idea what this team is building. Mitchell is defensively, probably the best rookie so far, he needs to keep building and playing big minutes. Kanter can take a walk, he opted IN for this, he knew.
