With as weak of a draft as this is and with us wanting to be good quickly since we traded our 21 FRP, I would look at trading the pick. If it ends up at #1, Anthony Edwards plus Culver is at least a starting point for Beal or Booker.

If the Brooklyn pick does not convey, then might not be able to trade the Wolves 2020 pick now. Right? Maybe only swap it.

Wiseman seems like a dominant physical specimen to me, although I do think you have to think hard about drafting anyone who doesn't shoot 3's at a high level in the current NBA.

Where were you when they were defending Culver pick?

Not a great 3 pt shooter...but an elite athlete & defender....would be a physically strong player @ the 3. I like him a lot...but your banking on fixing his shot & secondarily improving the handle some if he's going to be a star....think poor man's Kawaii when coming out maybe?

At the end of the day you always pick BPA with where we're @....but I started to lean a little more this way vs. the PG's even before the trades....if I had to pick today...I think Toppin's my guy...assuming Rosas doesn't classify him as 2nd big....which I want to watch his game more & see that he could fit that way? Haven't seen much on what they think of him defensively @ next level....hard to get a read on him playing Atlantic 10 games?

I don't know about that...BPA may still be the way to go.

Of course, I wasn't really arguing against going BPA. But there are varying levels of BPA imo.

I have Avdija in the top 5 and Toppin in the top 10. I think both these guys are good fits to where you can feel comfortable in those ranges drafting those guys and both BPA and best fit.

The thing about the Wiseman situation that sucks is I wanted to see Achiuwa play PF to see more of his perimeter ability. Now he just sits on the block, so I don't get a good feel for any versatility he may have.

Defense will be an issue. And yeah I've started to wonder too if he'd be more of a C than PF in this system

I don't think this is a weak draft.

He is definitely a project on offense. I think at best he will be someone who can spot up an hit 3s, be a solid roller or sit in the dunker's spot, and crash the offensive boards. He shows some impressive flashes offensively, but not enough to ignore his discomfort dribbling in traffic.

You know, even with Russell I wouldn't be against drafting a PG. Especially a guy like Haliburton who could come in off the bench at either guard spot.

I know it's not the "sexy" pick but there's value in having good reserves.

I think Haliburton makes a lot of sense with his passing and defensive ability, while still being able to knock down an open 3. Wish he was a bit better at P&R, but other than that he's a perfect fit. Can guard anyone D'Lo can't, meaning they can play with each other and someone like Okogie or Beasley.

After the trade I would love for us to walk away with some shooter. I think Tyrese Haliburton could play next to Russell much like the duo in Portland.

Then with our second 1st I would love to get a guy like Devin Vassell another 3 and D .

DONT DRAFT ANYONE WHO CAN'T SHOOT!!!!!

My goal right now for this draft is to find two long 3&D type of forwards to put with Dlo and Beasley. Honestly, if Beasley does what I expect him to do, he is going to eat up a significant contract. That being said, find me a pair of Jerami Grant's and I will be happy.

1rst pick - Toppin, Avdiji, Haliburton (the length would help make up for the height),
2nd pick - Achiuwa, Okoro, McDaniels, Sylla, Reed, Jalen Smith, Nwora

The guy shooting up draft boards appears to be Okoro. I’m not sure he’s shown enough to go top five, but ESPN has him at #4 right now. He would be a wing stopper but I don’t think he has the shooting history or physical measurements of someone like Hunter, who went four last year.

Hunter was a SF/PF, Okoro is a SF/SG.
