Well, they did something. Surprised that Vuc went I didn't think he would go now I definitely think AG and Fourn are following him out the door the rebuild looks like it's on.

I disagree. With AG and Evan probably gone, keeping Vučević make sense only if we are absolutely sure that Isaac and Fultz will soon become that DPOY and All Star players. And if we are dealing, than it is best to start with our best piece right away and not come out as garage sale pitch.

I for one think it is a solid return depending on protections, as adding one All Star to Bulls roster is not going to fix that team.

Yeah, I believe that was one of the main selling points of making the trade.

It's still very dangerious thing to do. Teams that do complete bottom out have least sucess rate percentage vise. Based on some huge study, almost no team ever went from being the worst team in basketball to contender over next 5 years.

But time will tell.

While I'm glad that the Magic are picking a path, I agree. This one is pretty risky. There's no guarantee the Magic get the right pick. There's no guarantee the Magic's pick pans out. Rebuilds like this can send the team into a dark abyss. I always assumed Weltman and Hammond would play the middle road. Keep some vets while using this season to bottom out and re-upping next year. Now, I think next year will be just as rough. Even more so if they don't land a top 4 pick.

3 years of Bamba: 131 games
4 years of Isaac: 136 games

Fultz is in that ballpark...

I don't disagree, but to me being content with 6-10th seeds year after year with no path forward is almost worse. That's basketball purgatory. Which is exactly where we were at.

At least this gives us some shot at forging a path forward, beyond the low ceiling we had.

That’s a good thing. I rather have a top 4 pick than the 10th pick.

Because our team with Vuc was going to almost make the playoffs, right?

Vuc has been here almost a decade and has 2 playoff wins, sorry but what is the upside to keeping him? was he going to suddenly become Bron or durant and will this team to a ring?

Hi guys, tough but very exciting day.

This is an absolute home-run deal imo.

When you dissect it you could argue that in regards to value Orlando got a better deal than what NOP received for Jrue Holiday and for that alone its a huge win in my book.

This almost guarantees us a top-5 pick and allows us to have the flexibility to move up with the additional draft capital via Chicago if the ping pongs dont fall in our favor OR we simply draft another prospect in a deep 2021 draft.

This also gives us significant cap space this off season.

Vucevic is 31 yrs. old next season, we traded him at his absolute peak value. You really cant ask for more.

We all said, every single one of us, that this team as constructed when healthy was no better than a 5-6 seed.......so why bother continuing with the nonsense, tear it down, start over from scratch and build around JI, fultz, cole, chuma and hopefully cade cunningham or jalen green!

We add any of them + our injured players + Vuc/Ross and we have a Top 4 team in the East.

Doubt it

Vuc
JI
Cade
Fultz
Cole

with Ross and CHuma on the bench is NOT a top 4 seed. That team is not better then the bucks\76ers\nets\Heats\celtics, so at best it would be a 5th seed, but the hornets are a young team with alot of talent, they likely will be a top 5-6 seed next year, the raptors are down this year, but i trust their GM to rebuild that team quickly, the hawks are in a similar boat as the hornets

SO keeping vuc, ross and vets to met just gets us into the 6-8 range and still way behind the top 5 teams

You are forgetting what we could get for AG and Evan. At least AG should get us a valuable player like Ross.

Wow. Was expecting nothing... got a Vuc trade. Crazy. Return seems about in the ballpark of what you'd expect. It's not like he's Anthony Davis. We didn't even get picks this good for Dwight.

I don't think Vuc would have loved it too much here with Evan and AG leaving. Now he doesn't have to be the best player on a team and can play off of Lavine. Not sure I see the pairing working out that well, but we'll see.

About time we blew this thing up. Should have happened years ago. Finally... a direction!

Now who the hell is going to take all the shots? Bacon right? lol

Ironically, I always dreamt of adding Lavine to our team with Vucevic.

I've said couple of days ago, i'm fine with trading everybody as long as there is direction.
Now direction is rebuild.

What i really hate is that now almost whole roster is injury prone. Just look at this s***:

Wendell Carter Jr--- injury prone only played 130 games in 3 years
Bamba- injury prone and kind a disabled to play exstended min
Okeke- ACL tear
Isaac- ACL tear
Fultz- ACL tear
Cole- out for exstended time already (after having meniscus injury at college)

For love of the God stop taking players with injuries.

I love it so far

Move under the cap
Plenty assets

Otto is an expiring deal, i doubt he stays for this season (trade or buy out?) let alone coming back next year

hopefully we can resign otto for cheap next season (aminu type of deal)

I think The Magic should have gutted it out with Vuc.

The picks will be mid first round and while Carter looked good coming into the league, I am not really high on him although he could be a starter.

Getting Aminu moved was good but I still feel The Magic could have reset the wing with The Gordon deal, used the high draft pick this year and been a good team next year.

I'm not sure I expect Porter to even finish the season with us, let alone be re-signed and be part of our plans lol.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

Yeah, for me, I look at that roster and don't see a single core piece. This is a complete and utter reset. We're starting over with whoever we draft this year and going forward. Isaac is the only caveat but you can't consider a player like that part of your core until he can string some healthy seasons together.

Cole/Okeke/Bamba are canon foder in my eyes. Fultz is a rotational level point guard. Nothing more. WCJ could be an interesting starting center, but he's not part of my core.
