Magic might regret taking Suggs over Giddey

Tall playmakers are the new thing and Giddey seems like the next in line after Luka/Ball, Raptors were super high on him too.

Masai was high on Giddey(scouted him multiple time). If Barnes was off the board somehow he would have went Giddey with the 4th pick.

If barnes was off the board...one of Cede, Green or Mobley would be available but i know what you mean lol

It did seem like they were high on Giddy...it also sounded like they really wanted to grab LaMello Ball last year. They know talent

I was a Suggs guy over the summer, aggressively so, but he’s playing like complete **** and making me look like an ****. I still believe in his potential but he has a lot to work on in terms of developing his game which is funny because Scottie was supposed to be the guy that was raw and needed work. Scottie has looked like a veteran out there and plays with a certain poise and patience you don’t see from rookies.

Thing is Scotties physical tools and athleticism just allows him to get easy buckets that Suggs just can't.

Suggs is easily the better 3 point shooter but Barnes is the better everything else so far.

To score in the NBA you either need to be able to get to the hoop and dunk or be able to shoot.

Right now, Suggs doesn't have an overwhelming physical advantage, isn't a good shooter (good FT shooter though), not a great ball handler.

He just has no real easy way to score.

He really, really needs to work on his ball handling and jumper over the summer.

he's young, athletic and tall enough though where if he can get that, he can become an All Star point guard. It's on him though.

I don't and he took another shot at Barnes. Honestly wild to me that he calculated his summer league and career first 5 games shooting outside of 10 feet and came to the conclusion Barnes will not be a top 15 player and just maybe an Allstar once or twice.

He is looking more idiotic each day.

His Suggs was the 2nd best prospect in this class was one of his better takes even if it's terrible for everyone else.

I was all for Suggs at draft time, but obviously I am happy with Scottie now. At the time we thought Suggs might look good right away and it would take a few years before Scottie showed well and you could judge the draft. Now the opposite has happened, Scottie is great right away and Suggs is going to take longer. Fair enough.

But the sad tendency of some here is the need to not just praise Barnes but to trash Suggs too. He is going to end up a great PG. He has gone to the worst possible situation, a weak team but with another young star point guard. He and Anthony are not meshing well together. There are lots of teams where Suggs would already be making a better showing and a bigger difference.

I hope our homer broadcasters tonight don't do that thing where they also feel the need to give subtle putdowns to Suggs.
