He won’t start once PS returns and he’s not a very good offensive player by NBA standards right now. He’s going to need time to expand his skill set, tighten his shooting and his (occasional) loose handle and learn the NBA game. I do think he’ll get there on the offensive end however, he has a high bball IQ , a great attitude and appears to be a gym rat.

While the stats predictions were off, the assessment of Scottie's personal makeup was dead on.

Been tell yall be patient with him... I watched Scottie 10+ times in college.

I've put it out there on this board + the draft board that if he becomes the best player in this draft I would not be surprised. I've also put it out there that he's a much better point forward than Cade Cunningham (I also had Giddey as the best passer and a potential top 5 pick).

I've been quiet since the draft because this board became borderline obnoxious post draft. I'm telling yall Scottie has superstar potential. He's a unicorn some weird hybrid of Giannis/Marion/Draymond/... VERY Scottie Pippen-like.

He's got potential to be 1 of 5 players in NBA history to average 2 steals and 2 blocks in a single season. IMO he's going to be an absolute stud and I would not be surprised to see him average 20+/8/8/2/2 at his peak.

Pretty much spot on. Funny thing is we would have thought he was a stud if he averaged 20/8/8/2/2 but he's already matching some of this in his rookie season lol. What are this guy's peak averages?

Personally I still thing long term I prefer Barnes' skillset over Mobley. While Mobley will be an elite defender and is clearly a much more polished offensive player than even earlier in the season, Barnes' IQ and ability to do everything on the floor is very unique. He's kind of in that James, Jokic mold where defenses will just have to pick their poison and decide how they're going to allow him to kill them.

Well Nurse said he was going to play a lot and he's come through. Couldn't be happier with how Scottie has developed this year. This summer should be fun to watch his growth.

Prior to Season:

I've slightly modified my prediction from earlier this summer before the Summer League.

8.0 PPG / 2.0 APG / 4.0 REB / 1.0 STL / 1.0 BLK. 70%+ Free Throw Shooting. Based on 20 MPG.

If he puts up those numbers as a Rookie I'm ecstatic.

Adjusted after 2 games:

I thought he'd be playing closer to 20 minutes, but he has played 32.5 and 35.5 minutes respectively over the first two games. That's a real positive sign because he has been productive at both ends of the floor.

Adjusted for 30 minutes:

12.0 PPG / 3.0 APG / 6.0 REB / 1.5 STL / 1.5 BLK.

Even still I might have sold Scottie short, he looks good early. As opposing teams start to respect his shot it's going to open up the passing game for him, so we'll see those assist numbers climb.

I sold him short even still, but also didn't expect him to be playing anywhere to close 35 minutes per game, which is a testament to how well Scottie has played this year. I certainly didn't expect Scottie to be anywhere near as impactful as a rookie as he has proven to be.

It sounds like Nick is going to use him like a bigger, better pat mccaw. He’ll take a few 3s per game but mostly just score at the rim off cuts and transition.

He has blown way past my expectations. I thought he would lucky to get to Iguodala's best year (20/5/5) at some point in his career. At this point, it's essentially a give that he will reach those stats at a minimum.
