I hope Leon and Thibs can see what can happen when you give the 60-80 minutes that Noel, Taj, Kemba and Rose typically eat to the players you draft. Nothing wrong with any of those vets individually but what are we building here?

Burks is not a good defender
Y'all getting fooled the same way y'all thought Elfrid was a good defender.

he does allow more effective switching with his height, at least

It's definitely the off-ball movement. Which is why I would've been happy if McDermott came back because he could score a few buckets a game just by cutting.

Yeah, he's better than Kemba/Rose, but he's still not good
I know it's Trae and all, but Burks was getting toasted all game until Quick came in
I wouldn't trust him with anyone other than bench wings and lower tier starting wings.

eating his contract and letting him ring chase isnt that bad optics
I doubt any team would want Kemba to ring chase.

We're spending a lot of time talking about the guards, but I think Julius being completely engaged on defense, even in a bad shooting night, is just as big of a story

I really love Obi's game. He is sneaky out there because one minute he's covered and then he's pointing up for an alley-oop. That one play when he threw it down, his defender was forced to commit to Grimes because Obi purposely slowed down at the free-throw line and then committed to the basket.
I love it.
And yes, why doesn't RJ play more with Obi; I don't know. RJ thrives with guys like him. We saw it when he played at Duke with Zion. He's a good passer and Obi is a fantastic target.

Likely a steep drop for sure.
How good would CP3 make our young players look? With how well he gets them the ball in their spots and how good he sets the pace for the team
Pretty damn amazing...hed even have the Vets clicking....

Yep though that's not saying much considering the rest of our guards are not good defensively.

he's much better with his fellow youths, the starters just bring the ball up dribble the **** out of it and setting for a bad shot. Most of these starters are hampering his growth

Yeah Bullock has been absolutely horrendous this season for the Mavs. And some guys actually wanted Bullock back.

I was about to say that lost in this win is that Fournier played a really solid game. When he hits his shots this team is almost unstoppable.
For some reason though he can’t play well with Kemba, which is strange because on the Celtics that combination had a crazy good net rating.

Re: Knicks - Hawks PG: This is what effort looks like
This has to be one of the best wins of the season because of how this season has gone thus far. Good team win. A few guys stood out and stepped up tonight. Some stood out but won't reflect in the box score.
Sims just seemed to bring it on every possession he was out there. Both ends of the floor. The energy you want to see out there. Can't tell tho when you look at his facial expressions haha.
IQ its his time I think to start. Alan is right. Time to graduate. Kemba isn't getting it done right now. IQ has been good at just attacking. Also facilitating.
Obi brought the usual consistent energy and effective play off the bench.
Grimes was good defensively and I like how he plays with confidence too. That play to Obi was nasty behind the back for the oop. Also he's not hesitating on 3's. He has a good stroke (no homo) so the shots will fall. Free Grimes.
Burks is continuing to hit big shots when they need them and solid defense too.
Randle didn't force anything tonight which is encouraging. He played within the offense and found open guys. Didn't really allow the traps and double teams to lead to TO's. Keep this up, watch the film and take note of this game. He doesn't need to be the main focus of the offense to win games.
I hate Trae Young. He is like the small guy version of James Harden. Just bad basketball with the flopping, bad shot selection etc. Glad this dirtbag lost. Had to squeeze that in.
BING BONG!

I've been saying this. They play better when he plays better. He opens up the floor especially when he's hitting 3's.

and he's not tradeable. there's no answer.
The answer is tough but to start Rose and try to have Kemba chase bench guards around instead of starting guards which in theory should be easier for him and he might be able to cook some bench guards and have IQ next to him
They need to make a move. Discussed this on the NBNF podcast. Regardless of how Knick fans are giddy about tonight's win they still need help. If they can't swing a trade for a top tier shot creator, they need to look to make a move for a proven PG that knows how to run an offense that isn't washed that can at least come off the bench and play some healthy minutes. That way you don't have to worry about not having continuity for the entire 48 minutes. The Knicks ups and downs are cause they don't have enough coverage for the entire game.
