Shams said the Sixers are getting a Clippers 2026 first and a 2028 first. Is that wrong?

I’m not sure if the Sixers are getting 3 total first round picks with the OKC pick as well.

The Clippers 2026 1st round pick was dealt to OKC in the Paul George trade. They have re-acquired their own pick and sent it to us. So there is no OKC pick in the equation.

Do not want. A Mitchell / Maxey backcourt is a defensive disaster. Mitchell is a terrible fit with Maxey.

Biggest question now is do we use the cap space next summer or make our trades this season or a mix of both? Getting off of PJ's salary for next year gives flexibility to do a bit of both.

Brogdon's salary is a perfect match for Marcu Morris plus Furk or House, adding in a pick (2026), or Springer if we intend to keep Melton next summer, as an example of a win now move that doesn't rip away all of your cap space next year.

OG would be perfect here. LaVine is no longer needed since Maxey looks like an AS.

However, I heard it mentioned that OG does not like Nurse? Anyone have any intel on that?

That’s finally a legitimate group of forwards that we can mix & match around Maxey/Embiid. It’s going to feel like we’re watching the game in color after only having black & white for years.

This. For the geek in me, primarily Batum and Covington. It could be a fun little experiment for the year. We just added a tonne of shooting, size and secondary rim protection and created a lot more matchup flexibility against Boston and Milwaukee. Nurse now has Embiid/Reed/Batum/Covington(/Harris) at his disposal to point and say 'get him' to suffocate a jumbo sized star big/forward.

IMO this season's prospects will be affected greatly by whether Nurse can squeeze some on-court value from Batum and RoCo. They looked cooked last year, and in this year's extremely small sample size their stats are just atrocious. If they start playing well I'll be psyched, but I'm sure not getting my hopes up.

The only thing I hate about days like this is searching for Sixers content on the net and forcing myself to listen to Keith Pompey and some other old guy (and I am 58, so if they sound old to me...) chatter on. Worse yet, they are actually making good points, if only it didn't take them five attempts to remember the name of anyone they talk about, lol.

Clippers just put themselves in a compromised position. They will have to resign all 3 of their stars next summer for big money. Those guys may even collude and negotiate as a tandem to force Ballmer to pay them all.

I think this is a TBD for Philly. Morey will be working the phones hard from now until the TD to land another really good player with these assets. Philly aint done. But moving Harden now is necessary because they got the most assets they could and look like a top 3 team in the east without him (even though its early). This buys them time to make another big move.

The Clippers are not going to win a title with Harden. It's hard to win with a player as ball dominant as he is to begin with even at his best, it's not going to happen when the dude can't get past defenders anymore or get to the rim. Seeing how slow he looked(and that was in the best shape he was in years) was really disheartening.

I get why the Clippers were desperate to do it, but if they think James Harden is the missing piece, they have another thing coming.
