Am I the only one who thinks the team has shut Frank down?

For what purpose?

Either they are done investing in him, want to free up time for DSJr. and Mudiay or they think his trade value will remain higher shutting him down than letting him play.

I see him as a casualty of Fizdale's offense. Fiz's offense begins with the ball handler going 1-on-1 to try and beat his man or pass to another player who goes 1-on-1 and tries to beat his man. Frank needs a system and Fiz believes in systemless basketball.

It looks like that we have to keep Cap Holds to complete a 12 players roster before the beginning of Free Agency. If we dont have Players Cap Holds, we need to keep Minimun salary charges as Cap Holds.

So, we have to be charged with a adicional 2 MSCs before hit free agency to try signing 2 Max FAs (costs 70,8M).

Expenses that need to be deducted at the 109M Cap Space.
Noah,Lance: 7,5M
Frank,Knox,Dennis,Mitch: 15,5M
Dotson Team Option, 1,5
95,3M and 5 playes in the book
Cap Space Left: 13,7M for the rookie and more 6 players to complete the roster (or MRC).
Trier: 3,5M
MRC 5 players: 4,5M
Total 8M
Left for rookie Cap Hold: 5,7M (not enough for signing the 5 th pick).

So Its impossible to pick Trier Option if we dont shred any Cap Space.

This has been explained countless of times, especially in the trade thread.
Lance Thomas is getting waived for his partial guarantee.
Noah won’t be back, nor will they keep his cap hold.
In order to have 2max slots, it would depend on our position between 1-5 & picking up Dotson’s option.
Also, it depends if we’re trading any or all of Knox, DSJr & Frank.

If this is true, the only way it could really happen is that they have the medical staff lying to him about his condition, since he's still rehabbing, practicing, and traveling with the team.

I have redone the math. And looks like we only will be able to keep Dotson and Trier if we pick 5.

We may have a almost done deal to be signed in draft day envolving Frank and a late FRP. The deal may depend of the other teams exact pick position.

Frank is still a project. And we will probably be a win-now team next year. A trade could be great for both sides.

Besides, we are short of cap space to sign good cost-controled players like Trier, Dotson, Jenkins, Henry, Kornet. They can also be used as salary filler players in a trade for AD or Beal.

If we can trade Frank 4,9M salary for a less expensive project, we can have more Cap Space and more assets next year.

Perhaps the team doesn't want him to get another groin injury and since this season is not worth much anyways, there's no point rushing him back to please fans.
