It seems that most times when the Raptors try to play down an injury the player ends up being out for a long period. If I was to bet, I would say that we won't see Davis until some time after Christmas. I hope I am wrong, but these knee things usually turn out to be an on going problem.
So let it be said. So let it be done. Book it and tag this post

My buddy works for futureshop and went out to Davis' house to repair a tv, Davis offered him a beer....had it with him and said he was a nice guy....but, he was on crutches, so take that for what it's worth.

We're gonna have to pull off a quick trade or something. We've got no backups for Amir and Bargs.

I tore a meniscus and for most sports it doesn't give me a problem. The problem sports are the ones where there is landing, planting and turning - like hoops - and sometimes it locks out. Toronto has some of the best docs on this and will fix him up, but he should think about what he needs to do to not being such a fragile player. He needs to spend time in the gym packing on good muscle and becoming denser. Being soft will shorten his career. I remember someone complimented Rasho on his 'old man strength' and that's what Davis needs. Hopefully he won't go Oden on us.
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.

Best case scenario is a "tweak". What that means is if Ed looks ordinary this season, we'll be told it's because he's learning to play through pain. Add that to the fact big men take longer to develop.

The Raptors arent helping things by enforcing radio silence on the entire issue. Just come out with a statement already explaining what hes going to do. Its been a few days and Im sure hes seen a doctor by now.

Pretty hard to speculate here. There are different kinds of tears, and two different menisci in your knee. The severity of the injury can vary wildly based on which meniscus is injured and what kind of tear it is. Brandon Roy was back in 10 days (but not the same). And on the other hand Gilbert Arenas's troubles all began with a "meniscal injury".

Ask Chris Jefferies, who never recovered from a torn meniscus at Fresno State.

Hope the guy's ok - mensical tears often also involve the MCL or ACL.

Since there have been no pics of the injury or Ed, it didn't happen.

I'm guessing the wait is because they're trying to decide if he needs surgery or not. If he does need surgery he'll probably miss half the season atleast. They would have said something by now if the injury was no big deal.

They're waiting so Ed can jump on his knee a week or so from the injury. Depending on what he feels at that time, they'll know more how to proceed.

You neglect to mention he had surgery today. Was a scope job. The rest is correct.

So he will likely be rehabbing during training camp. Hopefully, he can do some other stuff, like do some sitting weightroom stuff.
